Another silver car.........

Just picked up a base silver 2005 RX8 on Saturday that I'll be using for some SCCA events I doubt I'll travel around to as many of the National events as I did in the past since my two kids (which fit in the back) keep me pretty busy on the weekends. I'm still hoping to compete in the San Francisco region events.

If I can find a set of wheels and tires before the Atwater events I'll be competing there. If not, expect to see me at some of the San Francisco events in the future.

Stuart

Previously 2003 HS MINI.....

BTW - Anyone looking to sell a set of wheels and tires let me know.....Thanks,

sfr is definitely the largest local RX-8 BS field i've seen. you picked a great car & a great club. all BS'ers are the nicest people.

i'm #11 @ sfr & SD tour.

ps. got a set of oe rims with 100-run V710 if you are interested.

They will sell an RX8 to anyone. Last time we raced was almost ten years ago in GS.

Is Mr. Baghead going to show up for the Atwater Tour? We don't even have 5 entries in BS...yet. But, I do have another very fast co-driver for the event who will be signing up.

Sure, if no one smokes it while in possession ;-)

Like to run skidpad with pyrometer. The 20/run V710 show treads being pushed to the side and unsightedly gob over smooth surface underneath. Normal? Overheated? Forgot to water/cool down while doing cone clinic at SD, DOH!

Just when Howell was starting to listen to my advice and get his car working better, he's off to the world of SM2 Miatas. Pfft, those are no fun. :P

We had a good build up of klag on the inner third of the tires after SD also...don't think it was overheating, just a long course and not enough camber.

Yeah, those we're the days.....The funny thing is that the RX8 has similar characteristics to the Probe GT.....A silky smooth engine that loves to spin, nimble handling and bold if not goofy styling...Should be fun. It looks like I've found some wheels and tires for Atwater. Now all I need is some seat time and an alignment.............Oh yeah, and the "okay" from my wife.

Sorry guys, looks like we have to bail from running Atwater this weekend afterall

too many things going on, mostly I have too much work to do on the STU car between now and then, I'll be better served working on it at a more leisurely pace than going crazy trying to make the weekend

Sorry to heat that you can't make it, I'm sure the cones are happy to be spared this weekend ;-) Eagerly awaits the completion of STU!

Seems like prices for clean oem rims are between $400-500/set.
New Kumho V710's are $1000, as soon as they're used at all they're worth about half that, as soon as they are over 60 runs they're worth $25-35/a piece, as far as I'm concerned.
Shipping from where? I've sent tires cross country for $100, but that was without the extra 100lbs. of the factory rims...
