7000 rpm "flat spot"?

It seems like my RX8 has a pretty pronounced flat spot at somewhere around 6800-7100rpm...kind of a hitch and then it pulls ok from there to red line. Any comments or experience anyone can share?

how many miles??? that is when the last ports open up... if they are gunked up.. they might open slow..

i would run some b&g 44k... put it in right before a track or autox day... as these ports only get fuel above ~7200 rpm...

beers

That's not abnormal. I can't remember exaxctly, but I thinks it's the VDI reconfiguring the intake. Anyway, it's prevalent in the touque curve of all stock engines...yes it sucks...and yes we have to live with. Drive someone elses car to compare before you do anything.

Thanks. That explains it! And, yes, it is annoying...

Yeah, but that's because you have the special, limited edition that also allows for over 2 degrees of negative front camber

My 2006 does the exact same thing. It feels like the throttle is closing a little and then opening back up. Kind of annoying but I'm assuming its normal.

Mark, I think you know how technically savvy I am...I'm certainly not going to be the one to figure it out...but, give me a clue, at least that way I'll be part way dangerous

your parts and state of tune have a lot to do with how severe the power curve drop will be on the intake transitions

same for the camber setting, no hammer required

It sounds like you're cryptically trying to say "I have no caster", but that still doesn't make any sense.
