5.3 final drive install with Cusco RS LSD and high capacity Diff cover
With S2 Transmission, that really speed up my Final drive upgrade time period
Decide to upgrade to 5.3 final drive
With very careful simulation on Sofeware
Along with it updated Lsd from Rx7 torsen to cusco RS lsd, with low intial TQ i should not loose too much speed at corner entery
Also on list is Jdm garage Revolution high capacity diff cover, with extra Liter of oil should keep Temperature down and reliability of LSD locking at limit

if that’s the JDM S2 then at least it has a better 3rd gear ratio than we get here in the US. If you ever need 6th gear though, I’m not sure the lower rear gear will help enough to overcome the gap of how much steeper the S2 0.787 ratio is from 1.000 in 5th. That’s a big gap to jump at that speed with the NA Renesis power level. I suppose it just depends on the track.
Would love to have that cover, but hard to justify the cost for what I do.

Is about 165km for Rx8, which roughly around
4th 8500 Rpm , so I think I don't ever need 6th
Yeah that is pretty rare item , and special design. For Rx8 with Offset exhaust in mind
Hope I can get away with high capacity diff cover without trouble of Diff pump and cooler

Since I don't to do Full on W2W on my Rx8

I'm glad to see that diff cover has a fluid ramp in it so the windage around the ring gear goes where it should.

Been using variety of aftermarket LSD for long time
kazz, ATS , OS giken , and very aware of LSD need special friction modifier oil in order eliminates the chattering noise
This Cusco RS LSD , was developing very bad Chattering noise, i change two completely diff brand of LSD and different grade did not improve at all, at last a friend who has tons experience on Cusco told me Cusco RS only work with their Cusco 80/90 oil
Finally solve my problem, learn something new today , and save my weekend from disaster because i am scheduling to track testing

Without cooler ,u can run about 2-3 lap
Within safe range, if push over whole session for 7-8 lap the temperature will spik to 170c and oil will expand from vent tube, create a mass
Next track test will be 10/17, will build a overflow tank for diff

i think i will get it dial down , Cusco RS still lock too aggressively at slow turn

Found this extra latge Cpu processer cooling fin at local store
Decide to give it a try gor Differential cooling fin
To give it max cooling capacity bought the some high temp thermal heat paste
So fin have no air package between diff cover and fin

you dont want to destroy your new expensive cusco lsd and 5.3 FD. i spent like $300 for my diff cooler setup.
