265/35/18 Fits!!

heres my new wheels on my car for the track..waiting on sus.....hmmm....i think they are perfect fit...offset is for people who want to make it fit rather than putting it on and leaving it...will not work with a drop withought rolled fenders all around and a little pull on the front....hardcore people only...lol

275/30-18 Hoosiers fit on the OE wheels. No rubbing and plenty of clearance.

They look like Dunlop SPs.

they are the dunlop sp race....i have stock camber...whatever that is...its fine...you dont need that much to make it fit...its 18x9.5 +35 all around...with like a +40 woulda been way better becasue there is still more clearence on the inside less body work to fiddle with... and who the hell would put 275's on stock rx8 wheels...thats rid... but whatever works right... anways i just wanted to show you guys how it looks...if you wanted to do 275 all around...just up the rear offset to 38 and the front to 40 i think would be good but thats to wide for me...road feel is rid.... every bump makes your hand jerk...

275/30-18? That's a cross-sectional width of nearly 11 inches! How can that fit on an OE 8" rim?

Solo II (auto-x) stock class rules say that you must use the stock wheel width. And some have been able to get 275s onto those 8" wheels. That is with stock springs and ride height. I don't think you could get them in if the car is lowered at all.

Well, I can't quite afford new tires, and I already have a set of 245/40/18's. But I definetly will upgrade when I can.

I have a set of Pirelli Road Race Tires on the Stock 8" Rims. The fronts are 245 and rears are 285.

Very grippy, amazing handling. When they get hot, they stick like glue, you can almost put a finger print in them.

Here are some pictures of the Pirelli's compared to the 245/40 street tires.

I just got my 18X8.5 in the front and 18X9.5 in the rear. I got 245/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rears. Plenty of clearance(stock suspension). Very nice look! Will post pics soon :D

I think you meant 275/35-18

they fit, the question is would you really want to use them on an 8" wide wheel

How does that setup work out for you? Doesn't it understeer quite a bit with the 285 rears?

just curious...if that size would fit...woudl the car be unstable..or is there a chance the tire woudl shift on teh rim (since it's onyl 8" wide) during hard cornering? just wondering b/c i need new tires and i haven't heard of anyone putting taht wide a tire on 8" rims...most peopel i see have 245/40 on them.

Race tires have stiffer sidewalls. I believe Hoosier sidewalls are so stiff they don't even bend if there's no air in them.

You should not compare 275 Hoosiers used for autocross to any street tire used for daily driving simply by tire size alone.

^^hmmmmm....so a toyo proxis t1-s wouldn't compare to a hoosiers that people use for autocross....or are we just talking vs. the stock crappy tires?

We're talking racing slicks compared to street tires--or rather how they shouldn't be compared. The Toyo is a street tire.

I have been very happy with them. I use them on the autocross course and with traction control off, can power out of turns wonderfully.
