and that will likely only get worse on Hoosiers. you can tune some of it out w/ a front bar, but that creates its own problems and will diminish the Z's advantage over the RX-8 in sweepers.

Looks like CS could get pretty interesting in 2010...

Wow, Mark Daddio, huh?

To those who have seen an MS-R in action, is it that much of a monster?

I have the upmost respect for that guy. If you ever get the chance to meet him, don't miss the opportunity to go over and introduce yourself. I'll be interested in seeing how Mark does locally/regionally with the car. I think Keith Scala runs in his region.

The MS-R's are fast, but so are the drivers who've campaigned them at some point - Buetzer, Fenter, Cawthorne, Wilcox & Disimo. I'll be interested in seeing how things pan out in this class over the next 1-2 years. Should be quite interesting...

The MS-R has many of the same strengths and weakness the RX-8 does, excellent high speed transition ability and good gearing but struggles a bit with turn-in grip and steady state understeer compared with other cars in the class. It is interesting to note the 2009 Solo Nationals were won by a Solstice ZOK, by over 1.4 seconds. The same driver (Ryan Buetzer) won the previous two years, in a 99' Miata and then a MS-R. IMHO the driver is the monster, not the car.

Chris Fenter has now posted that he'll be rolling in his MS-R for 2010 in CS. I'll be keen to see how this class shakes out, especially if Junior drives a 370Z. Lots of top talent, trying to get it done in different cars.

The CS list is growing rapidly. If all show up it will be a very competitive 2010.

Now that FatCat has got some dampers going for the Solstice, I might try out some of them 285-30-18 H tires on the ZOK.(that was one size we never got around to trying)
Love my rear dampers..Happy with FSB. Brakes work perfect for me.
Always been on stock shocks in front till now though.
Is there any speed left in the car and driver?
I think that there is a little bit left.
As long as family health issues work themselves out, I might see if the car still handles as well as I remember.
That or a F125 or get the TTRX7R1 built back up for stock class with my new knowledge and car classing.

He coached one of my competitors in BSL at Nats this year, she has the 370z.

With all of the RX8 talent already in place, plus some of these speculated new faces, it could be quite a year!

I'm planning on attending the SD tour and El Toro Pro. Should be a good battle in Lincoln! Hope I can get the car out there come September.

I will be racing in CS this year, although it will be my first season in the RX-8 and I will probably keep my events more local until I get more comfortable with my driving abilities, but I plan on making all the MidDivs this year to see how I compare divisionally. I have done four seasons in the Kansas City region with my '93 300ZX in ESP and won the KCR championship in 2008 and runner-up in 2009. I am hoping I can do better with the 8 since it is much more competitive than the 300ZX was in ESP.

Sorry if I'm not paying full attention here, but can anyone point me to the 2010 car class guide? I can't find the change from BS to CS anywhere on the scca site.

Busted...

Off to have some fun with the Squealie Tire Warriors in 2010. Watch for some ongoing vehicle build and test articles in Grassroots Motorsports Mag. later this year.

Awesome! Looking forward to the articles. I'm actually learning a lot about how to set-up my car for STX, from the NC guys over at miata.net.

Btw, is your 2010 MX-5 a 6spd?

Well best of luck with the project. I know Hollis thinks highly of the '09+ 6spd MX-5's chances in STR.

Tom,

How do you like the RX-8 thus far? What made chose one over a Z0K Solstice, MX-5 MS-R or 370Z for the new C-Stock?

Thought I would ask this here in the CS family vs. a new thread.

Having just moved from the 710 245's to the A6 285's can I get some suggestions for a starting point on tire pressures?

I remember moving from K to H tires on my FD and moving up a few pounds.

Thanks,

Tomas
