2008 Solo Nationals by a mid-pack B Stocker-now on speedsportlife.com

If you're bored, head on over to www.speedsportlife.com today and check out my article on my trip to Topeka this year. It's intended to be a kind a mini-tour of what Nats is like if you've never been but might be thinking about going.

Enjoy!

Funny stuff. btw 2nd gear rev limiter is 62.7mph according to my MaxQ GPS, most race tires are 4.3% shorter than stock. I have never even seen 67mph on OE size tires in 2nd.

If you’re lucky, it won’t be held in Topeka next year.
+12345 I couldn't agree more.

Funny article Mark - it was nice to meet you.

Nice meeting you, too, Chike. Your co-driver and I had a great time working a corner together Hope to see you at some NTs and whatnot next season!

I'll be back in B-stock (hopefully with my head-out-my-****) in '09. Shawn is undecided at this point in time and is considering purchasing a miata R to run in ES.

I won't be at Dixie, but should make the Atlanta NT (if one is held) along with the Devens NT and possibly the DC Pro. Depending on where Nats is held, I'll make a decision on whether to make the drive or not.

Devens B Stock didn't look too hot this year...I might make that trip myself I think my biggest reason for performing poorly at Nats was the lack of national-level course experience-Atlanta was my only NT or Pro of the year. I'm going to remedy that by going to pretty much everything East of the Mississippi next year.

With the state of the economy I'm hesitant to do many national events next year - I'd rather pay off debt (note on my car, my mortgage, etc) than spend money *****-nilly. With that said I need more seat time in the car and I have a couple changes to make to the car over the winter/spring.

Yeah, B-stock was slow at Devens but as I didn't attend the event, I can't comment. I guess I'll see what '09 holds.

Some of us California douchebags have heard stories about how quickly the weather can change in Kansas.

Ha-I wondered when that would come up

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that I never even saw the Hoosier Wets mentioned. That was an observation from somebody else in my region that I stole for humoristic journalism purposes.

LOL!

You know despite my god-awful driving, that whole week was the best autocross experience of my life. It takes a lot to win at the national level -- I now know where the bar is set.

"The preparation level of the cars is better than anything we’ve ever seen from Super Aguri."

HAHA, classic. I personally liked Heartland and wouldn't mind going back. Perception is a funny thing though, when I got to the site I was thinking "Hey, where the hell is the other pad to run day 2's course". To some of you that place was big, I'm happy we have lots twice that size to run ONE course
