I guess when it becomes a real class it will get listed. Just like the guys that win sup classes.

That is strange because I had read a post from Doug Gill that it would be listed this year.....

Where they've been since '04. The point is they're not in the rule book... AGAIN.

This is one of the other issues: There are quite a few draconian regions that run by the mantra "If they're not in the rule book, then we won't offer them." They were in Fastracks since '04 also... and some regions refuse to offer them still.

Sad, but true. Not having it in the rules also further hinders subscription to the class. And this is where one can put the tin foil hat on... the SEB doesn't want the class to become a class in 2007. Just saying 'oops' doesn't cut it with me, nor most of the other people in the classes that run there.

They (SEB) pulled the same kind of crap with STX when it came out. (Town Hall Meeting at Nats) It's one of them things... old school vs new.

I am farily new to the autocross world. I just completed my first season, but only participated in about half of the events. So please excuse my noob question.

Why is STU not conisidered a legitimate class?

In our region, there are about 3 cars that show up on a regular basis for STU, an Sti, a Saleen S281 and myself. So I am stuck fighting for 2nd place. It would be nice to have a little more competition. Especially since I am stuck in STU or BSP. And nobody in our region shows for BSP, so that is no fun.

Keith I agree, it's a catch-22 situation - it's a "supplemental" class until it makes enough numbers at nationals X years in a row. But it's unlikely to make good numbers on the regional and divisional level until it's an "official" class.

Its a new class, along with STS2. To make full National status a new class has to show over the course of 2-3 year at natl tours and natls that there is enough cars/drivers that want it. Your local numbers dont really matter, we get about 14 STU cars out here, it is how many of them show up at natl events that will determine if they make a natl class. If I had to guess right now I think STU will make it in 07' but STS2 does not look good. imho

thanks for the response, and clarification. I guess I will have to hope that my off season adds will help chase down that pesky STi.

there's no agenda, etc.

The SEB reviewed and discussed the new rulebook material with the STAC a month or two ago, it was just a simple clerical error

so Keith, STFU with the ignorance already, it's easy to have demanding expectations when they're on somebody else, having served in the position I can tell you it's a second job unto itself except with no pay or benefits, it only takes away from your personal life. It's a wonder anyone would even want to serve because guys like Keith can't do anything but bitch and moan for every last drop of blood from them ... that's exactly why I have no remorse for leaving

what an id--t ...

Mark,

Are you on the SEB? Only they have the right to tell me to STFU. Didn't you get the memo? And besides.. who the **** are you to tell me to shut the **** up?

I happen to be the more vocal on it. Trust me on this... there are many more people than myself that are way more pissed about this 'clerical error'.

It's really simple: it shouldn't have happend PERIOD. I can give them missing it for one year. Fine. I'm cool with that. 2 years in a row when they KNOW that they have classes that need membership to show up to run to have the class become a class? Nope. Sorry, just not buying it.

People dropped the ball. Twice with the same mistake. The worst that can happen is words on a forum. Scared of that? Of some major displeasure? Be thankful that's all that can happen. I know people that have been fined and fired for simple stuff. WHat the **** happens to the SEB? NOTHING.

Is it too much to ask for some accountability? That's all many people are asking.

I trust it was another clerical error that the S2000 is listed in both AS and BS.

I'm confused - will there be a STFU class in 2006 or not? Cause it sounds like several people would belong in it.
