hey guys! I just have a quick question, one of my good friends at school has a beautiful 05 red rx8 sadly i dont have one yet but im working on that, but theres a kid that goes to school with us that drive a v6 mustang with a cobra hood.... its a sad sight, an he thinks his car is like 1000x faster than a rx8. even tho he's never raced one an wouldnt know the real facts.. do you think my friends rx8 could take it there both stock?

High school racer boys huh? pffttt.....

I've run against those Mustang Shelby 500, Cobras ,etc. with 500+ hp on a 1.8 mile HPDE track, and they are the closest match to the 8 besides the Mini Coopers, etc.

I've only got 6 spd auto, but when I knuckle down and drive well I can keep them off of me when they should be able to lap me by end of run.

My 8 handled about as good as it gets, and the other high hp drivers aren't forced to learn to drive as much as me.

The only thing that makes me feel better about these kinds of threads is the fact that high school kids can only afford high mileage 8's that most likely have low compression, which means they will be sitting in the driveway not out making us look bad....

 

actually im in high school and have a 05 with 39k miles(36k when i bought it), and i paid for it all with my own money. didnt have everything handed to me like most of the other kids at my school and it deffinatly has tought me to respect what i have. unlike the other kids in my school who drive brand new bimmers and get in fender benders all the time.

end rant.

anyways my point being even though most kids are pretty reckless with their cars/stuff there are some who respect their cars and treat them better than some adults.
