I have a pair of H&R 25mm spacers that bolt onto the hub and the wheels bolt to the spacer, eliminating the need for extended wheel studs.

Ordered 20mm H&R spacers today. If there's another 5mm clearance I'll be in the market... that and the ability to vary the track with alignment and other conditional needs is why, on a dedicated race car, it makes sense to extend the studs and use modular plates. That said, our car also sees duty as a street car:
