Team has explained very well what is missing and what it will take to get it running . Pretty much all the missing components are those you would replace anyway to give you a decent setup .

not a problem, but if you compare the pic I posted to the parts layout in the Greddy installation manual (one of the reasons I posted the link to it) you can see that I have laid it all out for you to double check. Sorry if you got a bad deal somewhere else, it certainly pays to shop wisely, ask questions, check facts, etc. Feel free to check out my rep in the Good/Bad guy area kinda been around for a while ...

on my way out the door now to ship some wheels/tires and a remote oil filter kit, generally you get satisfaction shopping at TeamRX8World ...

UGH! just as I'm feeling confident about buying a new exhaust and wheel set-up, this comes along.... forced induction was always a plan of mine. So reading through your description it appears to almost be there, just to clarify, all it needs is an intake, and management source correct? Also you said your intention was to do the BNR upgrade, did you already do it, or was it something that never got around to being done?

I do not recommend bolting on any used Greddy turbo unless it has been rebuilt or upgraded. The original turbo is not known for long life. Mine is in very good shape; no wheel damage, tight in the direction of it's rotating axis, some side-side play on the turbine side. In other words, a perfect candidate for either a rebuild or upgrade, it's not junk but since I never ran it I can't make any guarantee or projection about how long it will live. It did not matter to me, just that it was in shape to work with as previously noted. Please reread the OP for those details.

My intention was to upgrade and install, but my plans changed and I will not be going FI and hence, no longer need to pursue this project. Several people PM'd me indicating they are on a tight budget and interested. I do not recommend any turbo kit unless you have the appropriate funds and are prepared to install this properly. I realize this may scare some of you off, and so it should. Anybody who installs a used original Greddy turbo on the cheap is asking for problems down the road. While this is an economically priced kit, it is only the starting basics for a proper turbo install. You still have other items to buy and then install, tune, and maintain it properly. The BNR upgrade is approx. $1050 with a good Greddy turbo supplied. Alternatively, several people are waiting on receiving their MM Greddy upgrade, but have already sold their cars and are trying to get someone interested in buying into that. I wouldn't hold my breath though ...

Another great deal on a used greddy kit. Upgrade to the BNR turbo and these are the most affordable way of going FI on the rx8. I like my setup, but for the price I paid for the kit and all the little thinks along the way, I could have bought a 3 greddy kits.

I am always surprised that these kits take so long to sale. There has to be someone out there that has a need for speed and has a decent paying job.

Bump for you and for my racing brake rotors. Someone click the link in my signature and buy my brake rotors.

Upgrade is the better route. The turbo that comes in the kit is less than optimal.

Even the original Greddy turbo will make 100% more fun!

I haven't had so much fun since high school!

The little snail that comes with the kit may be undersized, but it's not junk - it's a mitsubishi design, same as the stock turbos on a Bugatti Veyron.

Mine was a blast.
