From what I gather they are the wear marks to let you know they are worn through. Does that mean they are useless? Not sure. I'd Google it

R-tires can be a little tricky - they can wear out in more ways than one.

The obvious is the rubber level - when it's gone, it's gone. These have lots of rubber left as shown in the pics.

They can be heat cycled out - They only can be brought up to temp and cooled so may times before they start to get hard and lose grip. These went for one qualifying session on a road race Mustang, then three 20 minute sessions on my car (I borrowed a 370z for a session that day) so they are in good shape there as well. The one that was on the outside front has a touch of bluing on the shoulder, indicating that it got a little hot there (insufficient camber and running down a well driven s2000 is my defense), but it's not bad.

They can age / dry out - These were new in the early part of the season last year, and stored inside when not in use.

These are perfect for the track, in fact it's what they are made for. One good warm up lap to get some heat in there, and they are dead consistent. I wouldn't recommend them for autocross, the compound is too firm.

If you want a new set, GREAT NEWS, they are on closeout now at tirerack.com for only $1156 a set.

Are these still for sale? Did you decide to separate them?

I am still looking, but not as hard as I have a lot of other expenses.

Did you have any stock lug nuts leftover from these? PM me if so, just need an inexpensive stock set. Thanks!
