S1 fuel pump assembly

Hey guys, trying to get project rx8 turbo finished. Mine broke (out spout) upon removal. It wasn't me it was the other guy.
i would love a used one with the ring and lid if possible.

Thank you!

Mine broke in the same place. You can get one at Pep boy's, but make sure you purchase it online (you can chose to pickup in store if they have it) and not in store because they usually have online sales. I saved like $80 on mine doing it that way.

Good luck.

I'm in Canada, we don't have pep boys here.
im looking for an OEM assembly not aftermarket. I bought an aftermarket unit( which also came broken) and tried to swap the pump to a DW200 but she no fit. Thanks for the input though 😎👍

I would recommend biting the bullet and buying a new one. The internal filter on the S1 isn't replaceable. With a used one you have no way of knowing how well it flow or what may have been put through it. A turbo engine application is no place to be making that choice.

I'd recommend even more making the S2 pump assembly swap (some modifications required) because not only are the internals replaceable, but it's just a better design than the S1 version overall. However, it uses a Denso 65c pump design that would require a different style pump than the DW200.

Hey team!

Are you talking about the half moon filter thats at the bottom of the pump? I know the s2 assembly is better but seeing as I've already purchased a DW200 for the s1 assembly that's all I'm interested in. The motor isn't going to see more than 300-350hp anyhow. I also might be selling it as soon as it's tuned, all depends if I fall in love with it again or not.

Luck has nothing to do with it. I'm the only person that ever posted real fuel pump test results, but this is not a discussion area so if you want to address it further please go there.

I would go with putting in a S2 pump over any S1 replacement. That is what I did (with the minor mods described in detail in a nice DYI on the forum. see link below). For me it continues to perform much better than when I had a DW200 installed. Sold the used DW200.

so your saying a stock s2 assembly can meet the fuel demands of a FI renny better than the s1 assembly with a DW200 installed?

My RX8 is NA, but yes the S2 pump is one of the better choices. There are other custom pump choices for a FI Renny. check out the turbo owner's threads for more info and advice..

For the way I drive, I found my DW200 exhibited some of the same fuel flow shortcomings of the stock S1 pump. Those shortcomings disappeared with the S2 pump . The S2 pump has been great for the last many thousands of miles of spirited use.

I have a used S1 pump assembly (don't have the ring though) and I'm in Canada... if you're still interested.

Let me know before next weekend as I need to go get it out of storage at my cabin, and I could ship the week of Aug 8th sometime.

Shoot me a PM.

Yes, I am finished with my honest advice here. The OP should buy what he wants and be happy.

Best to you all.
