I just received an offer from, boricua1111 on the Mazda rx-8 forum.

I feel compelled to share my response and thoughts for those of you have criticized my original asking price of $1400 for rx-8 like new tires and rims with 3900 miles on them and also want to let you know I have reduced the price to $400 for tires and $700 for rims. Total for tires & rims $1100 you pay shipping.

BTW you are asking way too much for those. The price you're asking for is more expensive then premium rims and tires new.
My Responce

I traded my 4 1/2 month old speed 6 rims and tires with 4500 mile on them for these rx-8 rims and tires and gave $250.

I will not take $650 for rims and tires. I will take $400 for the set of tires that have 3900 mile. They cost $300 a piece. And $700 for the rims alone that retail for $600

Everybody has already slammed/ criticized my asking price. A guy named Fate had offer $600 for rims and I was thinking more like $700. He backed out. Said timing was not right.

I have looked for rx-8 wheels for about 2 months before getting these on June 16th, 08 and the cheapest I saw posted for was $800 and they had curb rash and bad dings. My rims and tires are like new

If anyone has an rx-8 and bends/ruins a rim. It will cost them $600 to replace 1 rim from the dealer plus tax or shipping.

I do not have to sell rims or tire. They look nice. My son wanted to get some light weight rays and a 225/40 tire set. The rays rims are about 5.5 pounds lighter and the 225/40 tires are 2 pounds lighter than the 225/45 according to tire rack spec. I would be lightening unsprung wheel weight by 7.5lbs and maybe have better acceleration. That’s my son’s reason for wanting to sell.

He will just have to live these tires and rims before I give them away

It seems like when ever I try to sell something it’s not worth anything.
You quote “The price you're asking for is more expensive then premium rims and tires new.” [/QUOTE]
The Dunlop 225/45-18 SP Sport 8090 tires are $1200 a set new. Where can you get a set of rims for $200?

The rays rims I was wanting to get cost about $1900 at discounted price and the Sumitomo tire were going to be $600 mounted, balanced and road hazard, that comes to $2500

I have reduced my price to $1100 for tires and rims like new with 3900 miles on them. I have looked at tire rack for tires ($600 for the sumitomo I want ) and they had some kosie 16 pound lightweight wheels for I think $239 (reduced normally $275) a piece plus shipping but just my luck they only have 2 rims silver and 3 gold . That would be $1600 to $1700 and I do not know if sumitomo is in the same class/quality as the Dunlop. I do not know if kosie is a premium or cheap rim. Premium rims like BBS are $500 to $800 a piece at tire rack.

I will say thanks but no thanks. Offers like that are an insult to me. Like I said bend/ruin 1 rim and it will cost you $600 and ruin 1 tire like the Dunlop I am selling and it will cost you $300 for 1 tire. You guys on these forums do the math. I do not see how you came say I am ridiculous/ ludicrous or out of my mind for the price I am asking.

Bobby

Members - please remember this is a 'for sale' thread, and act appropriately......

I realise some had an educational intent, but if that's his price - that's his price; let market realities do the educating.

(I just bought a new 'darkchrome' rim for $135, on this very forum.....$600 a piece from Dealerville.)

Everybody has already slammed/ criticized my asking price. Because it's outrageous

I have looked for rx-8 wheels for about 2 months before getting these on June 16th, 08 and the cheapest I saw posted for was $800 and they had curb rash and bad dings. My rims and tires are like new. You must have been looking in the wrong places & at the wrong times. They are available cheaper!

If anyone has an rx-8 and bends/ruins a rim. It will cost them $600 to replace 1 rim from the dealer plus tax or shipping. You sir are NOT a dealer, Plus who in there right mind buys "Stock" rims from the Stealership. That's what car fourms are for.

He will just have to live these tires and rims before I give them away. Looks like he'll be rolling on the OEM's for a while

The Dunlop 225/45-18 SP Sport 8090 tires are $1200 a set new. I just sold a set on this forum w/7k for $250

You guys on these forums do the math. I do not see how you can say I am ridiculous/ ludicrous or out of my mind for the price I am asking. Hmmm you still have them and MANY people are interested. That says something about what you want for them

I have reduced my price to $1100 for tires and rims like new with 3900 miles on them. Good Luck with your sale
Another FREE bump for you

It's a beautiful weekend, time to hit the open road and enjoy the summer weather!

I sold my flawless rx-8 stock rims with tires (9k miles on them) for $460.

For whatever reason, no one cares about tires. So selling the rims alone or with tires doesn't usually change the price very much.

With so many going aftermarket, RX-8 rims just aren't worth a lot here. If you take it to the Mazda3 and Mazda6 forums, you will have better luck trying to get more than $500 from the sale.

You are far better off splitting them up selling individually. Doing that, you may achieve an insane $800 for the set. The only people willing to pay anything are the ones in need of one wheel....dealers, and curb lovers.

You guys could make so much money over at the mazda 3 forums.....most of the mazdaspeed 3 owners agree that the RX-8 rims are a hot item for our cars. I know I would like to see some of you selling your wheels at mazdas247.com in the mazdaspeed 3 marketplace...I'm going to be looking at getting some RX-8 wheels for my MS3 in the not-to-distant future.

Just trying to help you guys, because us MS3 owners really do love the RX-8 wheels a lot.

^That's how much I sold mine for. To the OP, you won't get much more than that. So just stop trying...
