Tokico D-Spec Shocks (Price Update)

Category: Steering & Suspension
Price: $350
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I
Location (US State/Canada/Int): CA
Item Condition: Used

I have a used set of Racing Beat Springs and Tokico D-Spec Shocks for sale. Both were used together and have about 8-9k miles on them. They're in great shape, the rear springs were replaced by Racing Beat under warranty due to an awkward sag issue which has been fixed with the new rear set.

I'm selling these because I ended up swapping over to a set of KW coilovers to better suit my growing aspiration for track days. (I don't have the D-Spec extension cables for the rear shocks as I modified them to fit for my KW.)

Tokico D-Specs: $350 SOLD!
Racing Beat Springs: $180 SOLD!

Local Pick up preferred, but willing to ship (domestically). Paypal payment is preferred.

Thanks in advance!

Here's a photo of my car when I just got them installed:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3520/...98b7e4c5_b.jpg

The car settled a little after a month of driving. Here's the best picture I could find of the car when the suspension settled:

Racing Beat says it lowers the car 1/2 inch all around which was pretty consistent.

Hope this helps!

Those are my old set of rims, but they were 18x8.5 Front 18x9.5 Rear running 245-40 upfront and 275-35 rear tires.

****DISCLAIMER**** (This modification has no relevance with the actual Tokico DSPEC shocks for sale and is a reference to a remote access solution for KW Variant 3 Coilover Shocks unrelated to the sale.)

Got the original idea from what another member had done with his set. He used a hex key or something to bind the proper size allen on the end (DocGator is his S/N I think?). My buddy had the idea of hacking the end off and soldering the right sized allen bit on the end. This is what we came up with:

It's pretty sturdy (used a different kind of solder), but I haven't put them on yet. More than likely will drill the side of the tower to put them in and make for an easier access port. Once I get these installed I'm planning on doing a write up or something if they work out.

I have this same combination. It's great. Used for multiple track days and have about 25K miles so far as my daily driver.

Sometimes a little harsh depending on your comfort (and maturity lol) level, and driving on crusty icy roads can be a lot of vibrations, but overall it's a great compromise combination for road and track. 400 bucks for both is a steal, even used.

Buy a new set of the adjuster cables, and set them up right. They have a tendancy to break, fyi, so be careful with them or you can get stuck having to take the whole suspension apart.

gl to seller...

The adjust-ability of the shocks make it great for street/spirited driving, and having those rear extension is a God send. If you're not careful, the extension crimps can separate at the base during install if it gets caught on a lip when dropping the strut. Thank goodness they are fairly inexpensive at $20ish. I'd still be using this combo if my needs hadn't changed to more of a track/spirited driving style.

Technically, RX8s use coilovers (not to be confused with Adjustable aftermarket coilovers). If something is damage from your spring/shock assembly then it would behoove you to replace the entire assembly, ideally by replacing them all at the same time since there are different levels of wear. You'd want to have all the shocks to be the same.

These are the shocks specifically, and do not come with the rear boot assembly or dust covers. Those from the OEM unit are in most cases reusable.

The shocks are still for sale, but only as a set. Hope this helps.
