I have a 2007 automatic engine with 54000 miles on it, i bought it originally for my 8, however the person sent me the wrong engine, mine is a manual, he sent me a automatic. There for, i am willing to take a loss for this. As long as it goes to good use, since i cant use it at all.

I also have decided to part out my car. I have everything currently, if looking for a specific part, let me know we can work out a deal. I also have a greddy dual exhaust 3 inch tail pipes, great sounding exhaust. 350, OBO.

 

06+ is the same engine iirc

 

I am unsure what you mean? I have a. 2004 rx8 manual, I was given a 07 automatic engine which has different output assembly.

 

Just bolt on flywheel from your 04 motor and you should be good to go

 

There wouldn't be a problem putting this in an 05 automatic? Mine just blew and now trying to find another engine so i don't have to get rid of my car

I would need this as soon as possible as the 8 "was" the only working car i had atm.

 

04-05 autos have a 4 port motor after 06 all rx8s had a 6 port motor. this would not work in your car without major custom work

 

it may work if he gets 06+ ECU ... luckily there is a guy that sells them on ebay ...

 

Basically this is a 6 port motor that will work on any 04-08 Man tranny and any 06-08 Auto just for clarity

 

I forgot about the engine differences guess its back to mazda for a new one.

First off, If I can use the motor, how do use my flywheel without spending a bunch of money on seals? Second off, I would have to change a bunch of things. Third off its a 6 port engine. How can u convert that to work with a 4 port system?

I recommend that you find a friend or someone local that knows more about the RX-8 before you go any further in your engine swap. Or have a shop do it for you. An engine swap is a decent undertaking.

I have a friend who I help rebuild his 13B for a RX-7. It was a good learning experience for my Renesis rebuild. He has rebuilt 3 engines a few time. Each time making porting or performance modification etc... Also, pulling and replacing an engine is easier with two people anyways.
