Strange they dropped in price so quickly...

But doesn't this part number have TI at the end and the other one you found SU at the end?

That is not the same exhaust. The Mazdatrix is the stainless, then there is one with titanium and stainless, and then there is the one for sale here that is full titanium. The Mazdatrix one is also not a full 3" ID since it necks down where the cat pipe connects. Look up some pictures, a member named slavearm was selling one a while back fyi. I seriously doubt the price will ever drop since metals only get more and more expensive (guess I was wrong).

I also bet that if you called the place he linked in the original post where the exhaust is $1700 that they would figure out JIC's prices have gone up and they never adjusted their website.

Metal prices are way down due to the world economy shift, stainless is about 1/3 what it was in mid-2007, Ti has likely come down a substantial amount too

that's also the 1st time I've seen or heard of one cracking like that, TIG welding it isn't so simple ....

I have not only read (in the past) of at least one other forum member having it occur, however, it also occured to my previous one (This is the second I've owned). Also, the MSRP on this exhaust has gone up in the past 18 months - what would metal pricing going down have to do with this? Furthermore I acknowledge the weld not to be so simple to repair - I guesstimated $100-150 for the repair which, I think, is very lenient. Care to argue?

Roariee and camtheman, can you please re-read that parts number and compare once again? The exhaust they quoted you is the stainless steal + ti tips!

To clarify (yet again), this is indeed the Full Titanium cat-back, for that price. It is quite clear as you can see some blue coloring coming from the piping ~ This is a distinct trait of Ti...

Thank you very much j8635621, you seem to be one of the (very) few knowledgeable ones knowing what exhaust this is. If it weren't for you (and a couple others), many might be misled by my post! I'd like to save this thread from as much trash as possible, hopefully its not too late.

No worries, I believe you. Too bad I just bought a full exhaust, I would have been ALL over this. Good deal.

No worries dude! This is why I was asking questions. I saw the part numbers and your totally right.

This is ALSO why I thought the catback had less than 3" ID. I never noticed the differences between the two part numbers and thus why I was confused.

I'm still calling DIBBS on this.

You have a contact @ JIC so I can inquire about the welding? I'd prefer to know I can get it fixed before hand.

I'm local too...why havent you come out to our SoCal cruises?!? You do not like our shenanigans?

I didn't want any other potential buyers to be misled, that's why the text is so large lol. I contacted JIC via email and they said they were working on it, Ill try once more but if I do have it repaired I'm most likely going to raise the price a bit.

I have gone to many meets in the past, lol. I even started the now defunct irvine meet... Lol. Pm me with details of how you want to make this work, I have had many other different offers.

Man I've been wanting a nice titanium exhaust for a while now but I will defer to others who actually have a use for it...I'm not doing any racing yet. This is going to be a great deal even after it's repaired though dang...
