This is my first post here, but please don't mistake me for a scammer. I have the same screen name on the rx7 forum and many posts under my belt with multiple items sold. Anyway the details: Wheels and tires were bought new back in January and have only 2 autocross events on them with a total of 12 runs plus driving to and from the events(44miles roundtrip). Tires have plenty of runs left on them. Wheels come in at 17.5lbs each. No center caps. I ran these on my FD RX-7 which required a good fender roll in the front to fit. I think the RX-8 will accomodate this size and offset better than the FD, btu I'm not totally sure. I enclosed a pic of them in action for a fitment reference. At this point, I'm looking to sell them together, but I'm will consider selling the wheels and tires separately. I'm located in Lakewood, NJ. Asking $1200.00. Local pickups preferred, but will ship at additional cost.

Wow this is a great deal! Just the RPF1's alone are $1300 new. and the A6's are over $1000. I know everyone here has the 18X9.5 +45. Does anyone know how these would fit?

 

they may with that 30 sidewall--i am not sure. i know a 9.5 wide with a 275/35 will fit.

hey guys...thanks for the replys. Again, I'm really not too sure about fitments on the 8s. I'd assume you may have to do some rolling of the fender. Probably not as much as on as FD though. If anyone is local to me and wants to come down and test fit, your more than welcome to do so. I'm willing to part out the wheels separately, but not as this time. I'd really like to see if I can get someone to buy them together, so it will be sometime before I split them up.

Only for the clueless .... flattening the lip is easy, just need one of those roller devices that attach to the wheel hub, and it's only the rear lip that needs to be addressed. Rolling fenders is a much bigger job; the fender surface has to be flaired outward. It's not even remotely close to the being the "same thing".

 

flattening the lip is rolling the fender... the fender roller "rolls" the lip upward. Flaring the fender is flaring the fender, which can also be done with a fender roller.

No, I'm just old school. I come from the days when people used to take a bat and place it between the fender and tire, then drive the car forward to roll flair the fender outward. That was fender rolling long before you were probably even born.

Just like people here call loading the suspension pre-loading, some young punk made a lip flattening tool and called it a "fender roller" and all the other young punks now think they know WTF they're talking about. Try to use that lip flattening tool to actually flair out the rear fender on an RX-8 and it won't last long. They're designed to flatten lips, not roll flair fenders.

How can you say that a fender roller cannot do flares and last long? Flaring the fender is the same process as "flattening the lip"... except that you keep going until it's pulled out. There's no way it could cause damage to a fender roller. Are your fenders and quarters flared out?

Although don you might wanna confirm on the offsets as +38 is not ordinary.

Also looking at your pic, a 285 with a +38 offset should make the rear stick out a bit further out.

I have a 265 in the rear with a +38 wheel and it looks flush like that.

 

is your +38 wheel also 10" wide?

 

I ran 10.5" @ 45mm, but with a slightly narrower tire and it barely cleared the unmodified rear fender lip, the front had plenty of clearance.

Another member (Polak) ran the same tire with a 9.5 @ 38mm and it rubbed the lip in the rear.

So I'm fairly confident that it will fit, but only if the rear lip is flattened (or rolled for all the clueless punks out there).

 

BTW my s2000 fenders and 1/4 panels were rolled and flared with my baseball bat. I then had the inner lips shaved down so that it didn't look ghetto. The actually gave me much more clearance than a typical fender roll. My RX8 was done with the same tool as above. It was rolled, and flared to the max. If you have ever used the Eastwood fender roller, you'd know that it's not possible to break it just by flaring out a fender.

 

then why have I seen one broken by doing it?
