there is no part that isn't broken... the pipe is bent the mufflers need to be repacked.

I suppose the tips could be welded onto a stock muffler...

Have you sold the catch can yet? Been reading through too many pages, didn't feel like looking through this whole thread, and it doesn't show sold on original. Also, how difficult is it to install on a stock 04? Just got her a week ago.

Would it be considered a necessary mod for a stock 04, with not much intention of future modding?

Yes, a catch can is def recommended due to the the **** design in the 04's intake setup. However if you got a crap ton of miles on your engine it wont help much unless you clean your SSV and VDI valves.

Idk.. I dont have any maintenance records before about 28k, so i'm not too sure what shape the internals are in, nor do I have the time to crack it open and take a look. After all the scanning of this forum, I'm starting to wonder if this car was a smart buy or not...

Not in the least. I know cars require maintenance, especially sports cars. I just wasn't ready for the cost of said parts. My fault for not researching properly. But anyways, is that $70 shipped edit: to 48382? and is anything else needed for it to do its job properly?

Sure thing man! Its a super easy install, I'll include all the hoses you will need. It mounts right to the air pump assembly using existing bolts.

Yea our cars are finicky and there are a few lemons out there. But with the help of this forum you should be able to accomplish any project you set your mind to.
