I'm not the most authoritative voice on here regarding the differences between Series 1 and Series 2 transmissions, but this is a 2009 (first year of Series 2), and yours is an early 2004 (first year series 1). It's well known that you can put a Series 2 transmission in a Series 1, but I doubt parts will bolt across between transmissions. Unless you know the parts you're after will fit or are willing to do what it takes to make it fit, might be better off finding another '04 locally. Mazda made more 2004 RX-8s than all Series 2s combined.

I own a 2008 6-speed Mazda RX8. I am looking for a catalytic converter for my car. Also, the plastic piece that is on the passenger's side front fits from the top of the glove box to the trim around the bottom of the windshield to the edge of the center console on the left and the vent on the right. It basically covers the passenger-side airbag. If your 2009 has any of those parts please give me a call at 781 258 9511 and we can check if it will work.

I don't think this is still around. OP hasn't responded in quite a while.

 

He hasn't replied in a while but he lasted visited 3/6 so I figured it was worth a shot.

 

converter got scrapped, all of the airbag covers i have are cracked

 

The air bag covers are available still from Mazda... for now... Mine arrived today. Purchased while they can still be had to put it away in case I need it later.

 

Hi there, this post was started in June of 2022 so I don't know if you might still have the engine or any engine components available. I am searching for rotor housings.

Any indication if the motor died from compression or if grenaded? If grenaded, I can't use the housings but if compression is the issue, I would like to purchase housings from you if they're still available. Please let me know.
