Yellow RX-8 with Carbon hood

I dont know if I ever posted these, but I was just going through some of my pictures and I ran into these that I took a couple years back when CaribianSpiceBoy73 had his hood shipped to my house. thought I would throw it on before he got there to see what it looked like on a yellow (his is grey).

I dont really care for it, (I dont like Carbon hoods non painted) I would LOVE this hood if it were painted, but the black hood on the yellow car looks kinda funky to me.

none the less thought I would share with Ya'll

My hood has so many nicks in the paint. Instead of repainting I just might go CF.

same here

The yellow/cf isn't bad, but i think a paint job where maybe the hood was yellow and faded down into black on the vents would look pretty cool

In the third picture, the close up of the front, it looks like the fitment is terrible. Was the hood fully closed, or left open just a bit. If it was fully closed, the fitment on the front would be unacceptable to me.

I don't mind the CF look on darker colored cars, and would like it on my Ti, but it has gotten such a rep for being ricey that I don't think I could do it anymore.

on darker colors its not nearly as bad... I agree... and it did look good on his car.

the fitment was that bad. was way more obvious on my yellow then it is on his grey.

I have seen hoods that fit worse, but I have also seen hoods that fit better.

that is pretty bad, I would have had to send it back. I have seen worse too, but it was a small tuner shop, that it was their first CF hood, and they tried it on an 8. But it was mostly bad on the sides, the gap was inconsistent.

^yep, real parts are always better

cheap car parts are like cheap wine, if you have too much you'll wake up the next morning with a headache
