panasports would look sick on it...sportmax makes some rims that sort of resemble the panasports but a little different, might pick them up 15 x 8's..hehehe thats gonna be a tight fit but my 205's should work out fine..he he

lol i was going to say get the red on white car. but your right it would seem to be over done by alot of ppl. so the black ones will be awesome. (red int with red rims /drools . but what ever you do i know it will clean.

This is great! My car before my RX-8 was a CRX. We joked that any car I drive must have the letters R and X in them. (I had an RX-7 a few cars before the CRX, and sadly, had to sell her when our first son was born as it wasn't "family friendly"...WHATEVER!!! Grrrrrrr

But, I digress.....I LOVED my CRX. Mine was originally yellow in color (1988 model) and I too, had it painted white, except that I went ahead and had them paint over the black trim line down the sides, which really improved the look to me a bunch. A friend and I installed a tiny rear seat in the back over top of that little cargo lid that opens up. (Just some plywood, upholstery cushioning and upholstery fabric all put together and properly bolted down to the car. We also bought a lap seatbelt from an American car manufacturer (Ford maybe?) with proper anchors for it right into the metal on the car. Until my kids got too big for it, (we knew when their little heads hit against the hatchback glass it was time), I would take one along in the back and one in the front (no airbags back then so that wasn't an issue) when I'd run an errand and my wife wanted a break from them at home.

Regarding handling, I believe it was pulling somewhere like .88 on the skidpad back then (or something like that...can't remember the #'s), but it smoked many other cars back then in handling tests. It was a BLAST on twisties. I see why you were partially interested in the car for that reason alone. (RX-8 great handling, not amazing straight line speed.....CRX in its own way - same, same). The gas mileage, esp. at this point in time, is a HUGE bonus.

Ok, I'm done blabbing....it was just cool to see someone else out there who is appreciating what I thought was a really cool/fun, and cheap car as much as I did.

Have fun with it and don't get in an accident! You might as well be on a motorcycle in that thing!

thanks michael...i was originally gonna treat it as my red headed step child and beat the crap out of it, but I understood its value! Hopefully by the end of the year it will all be done and hitting the drag strip, auto cross, and maybe some canyons..hehehe

I didn't do it, but I know most guys do what's called pixel by pixel editing.

I had to change mine from a white 1991 Rx-7 to my blue 1987.




changed the side turn signals, the front bumper, the tail lights, the color, the wheels, and the trim.

PM me with what you want done and a blank Rx-8 template and I'll see what I can do. It'd help with 3 pics matched to the angles of these little cartoons.
