Winning Blue Supercharged RX-8
i want to go with the pettit kit because i have that custom header teamrx8 built, very similar to the speedsource header apparently. and it only weighs 8lbs.
i wonder how a s/c'd 8 would respond to it
but i probably wont ever find out if i go turbo this summer.

yeah, but i'll have 4k to spend total. not 7k.
and thats this summer. if everything goes according to plan.
i really wanted to install that header. :/

see id be willing to wait and front up the 7K when id have it available and have a reliable, well built pettit rather than buying a TC. but that is all just personal opinion.
another thing i have a question about is, if i order the Stage II CS and the reflash together like in June. i wont get it till Sept right? because thats when they are doing the product run? i mean im in Va so i would install it myself. (hopefully without any issues)

There are 4 or so Pettit SC owners in the D.C./VA area. I'm sure at least one would be willing to lend a hand.
Otherwise there is always the Pettit Owner's thread in the Pettit forum.

You should come out to an autocross again sometime and see them in action.
I'd like to see your car out there again too. Deland is this sunday but i will be on street tires (new RE01R to try out). but Palm bay July 18-19 would probably be ideal for ya (and ill have R comps on your rims there).
I own them!!

Hopefully by July that will change a bit.
I actually enjoy being with them. The kids are 2 and 4, and are a lot of fun.
Autocross is an ALL DAY thing, and sort of exhausting. Relaxing with the family seems more enjoyable.
Plus, the beach is only 5 minutes away, the drag strip is over an hour away.

Once I get the ignition coils and plugs changed though I will definitely go to the drag strip.
You should take a ride in Greg's 8 and then mine next month. I'm scheduling my install up at PF Supercars, but they are booked so the turbo probably won't be in until next month sometime. I'm getting dyno tuned there though, so I should be in good shape by the MD rotary car show thingie and I'll take you for a ride if you want.
come on man, we could do it!
i swear. give us a few days, i bet we could figure it out. :D
then just drop it off there for tuning.
my friends dad is ridiculous when it comes to cars. he restored 2 60s mustangs from rusted to perfect and then sold them when he got into bmws. he has an m5 and an m6 now. come on man. we could so do this. :D he lives a few blocks away, we could do the install there. he has every car tool known to man.
haha. i know i'll be doing my turbo install, if it happens, this summer.

beautiful pic bastage. really. congrats man. that the dream right there.

Yeah, I was going to do the install, but I don't have a garage, and honestly I just want to have the car in boost with no drama right now. I've done almost every other thing on the car, and still have to install my alky kit this weekend, but I don't ever want to do a turbo install on this car on jackstands. I'm confident I could do the turbo install, but cramming that 3071R in there is hugely painful from what I understand without dropping both motor mounts. Hard to do on jackstands in front of my house.

Im going to be hitting 30k in the next month or so and be ready to do coils and stuff... Thats a 30k thing right? I gotta figure out what to buy, but I would drive over and we could do our installs at the same time... would be useful to have some help. If you want. lmk.
My garage is always open.
I would recommend either the LS2 or MSD 8247 ignition coils (I just bought a set of the MSDs and am hoping to put them in this weekend). You should probably get new plugs and wires too.
See marsredr100's thread in aftermarket performance upgrades for details:

Hey.....off topic, but did you see that Rach cracked up her car? We may need that garage! She sent me a text tonight about it and put some pics on her thread.
I might try and go over and look at it, but it may be best if they total it with 160k miles or so on it now.
Oh..............and WTF.............I give you an exhaust and I haven't driven it!
In fairness, I think you offered and I said "naw", I got a thing about driving other peoples car....................especially with the way I drive!

As for my car, you're always welcome to drive it as hard as you'd like. Just don't get a ticket or us killed
