Winning Blue Rx8 with Painted Wheels "Plasti-Dip Black"

Well I decided to paint my wheels with the Plasti-Dip spray paint just to see how my rx8 would look like with black wheels. Here are the results, let me know what you guys think.

How fast have you driven with it this way? I want to know what kind of adhesion it has at 100+mph.

Haven't driven it faster than 50 mph.

Well the plasti dip was pretty east to work with. I'm no pro at spray painting but I would say it came out decent. Like I said I painted them to see how it would look with the black wheels and well I like it.

Plasti-dip is very popular in the VW scene, I've always been curious about it myself.

Looks good. Spacers and a drop will make it look even better.

I used the plasti dip on my interior A-Pillars it seems like it would start to peel easily if its on the outside or an area that is touched a lot. Will be interesting to see how it holds up.

Did you paint your tires too?? Or is that just some serious coats of tire shine?

Looks nice. Plastic dip is fantastic to work with. Comes out kind of oily and segregated. But it spreads amazingly and has an awesome finished look. I did it to my 2010 lancer and it looked awesome for the first couple months. The only thing I came across was it looked like they were beginning to fade from the summer sun. They held up great at speed, car washes, and just about everything else. And the best is, IF they begin to fade, just peel it off then re paint them.

I was thinking about doing it but I also have a WB rx8. And I can't decide if I like the stock black on blue look.

I haven't seen your other thread, and I'm kind of lazy, so I'll just say it in here, I think it looks nice. I was wondering how black wheels would look on blue(I'm a fan of white wheels myself), but she pulls it off nicely.
