Reading helps... I couldn't figure out why you posted a picture of that Lexus. I didn't even notice the 8 in the background.

It's not a bad look. I want to say I've seen better pictures of that 8 on the forum before, but I might be wrong about that.

That said, I can't help but think that it's going for the R8 look...

 

Those are probably carbon fiber doors. I've seen a few pics the CF rear doors, and some photoshop ones. I like it!

I noticed that it looked a little like an R8 as well, but I can't say I think they're trying to copy it completely.

 

I'm diggin it a lil audi r8'ish very nice nice though, I think white with CF rear doors would be more awesome but man those CF rear doors are expensive!

 

Could always do as the ricers do and CF wrap it. haha.

He's a member here. BCOSWAT from socal (Camp Pendelton). Anyways I do believe that the rear doors are SEIBON carbon rear doors. I think somebody in socal was selling a new set at clearance price and this guy picked them up. To each their own....

Audi R8 was my first thought as well.

 

I don't even like the R8 like that AS for CF rear doors, well that's just retarded cinsider it negates the RX-8's side impact rating. The R8 looks much better in one solid color.

^^So CF rear doors would hurt the structural integrity of the rear doors in a side impact, right? I had a feeling this would be the case.

 

^Yes. When the doors are closed they form the B Pillar. Also if you recall the bottom of the door has metal spikes that go into the car. They also aide in providing structural support.

Trying to make the rear doors look like the R8 looks lame on the RX8. The body lines do not work. I know a few members here have done it. There are a few photochops around here as well. Just need to search for them.

I've personally seen it in person at H.I.N..... lets just say... "What Not To do to your car thread". The rims didnt go well either. The CF Replica MS wing didnt help either. A for effort though, there has been worse (ME )
