Ouch, you are very lucky....another few more degrees over and it would have been more than just the side bags going off. The important thing is you're alright...I feel your pain...

Damn
dude, if it makes ya feel any better i wrecked mine in september wasn't totaled but mazda charged my insurance 12,800 to fix everything. Got it back in the third week of November and then put it up December 1st. The only thing i can do is read msgs on this webpage till I get it back out sometime in march. Good luck with the next 8, by the way was your front lowered or did the wreck bust your front springs?

Its all good mang.
Well Boys and Girls this is it.
Our car ins co. payed the bank $13,824 That means we own the bank $3,600.
Based on the KBB our car 2004 RX-8 with 57,600 miles comes out to
Good-$14,500
Fair-$13,220
The Winning Blue 2004 RX-8 we want at the dealersip by my friend Mikes house has 21,000 miles. They are asking $16,800 I asked for $15,000 and $1,000 dp they said ok.
KBB.com value of this car we want;
Good-$18,215
Fail-$16,800
Looks like a good deal to me. So me and Annette going to the dealer. Lets see what they say. I hope we get it

GL Dom!
is that supposed to be "owe"? If so, you're doing alright and hopefully you can hammer out a deal with the dealership.
Are they giving you a chance to remove some of your parts from the vehicle?

My bad.
Yeah I got my stuff. My fried Gary gave me a ride the day of the wreck to get my Girl and everything out of the car. Its our only car.
As far as parts, I dont know yet. The wheels are trashed. I want my Tanabe springs. Only had them on for 3 weeks One of the clear corners are dead. The other is good. Thats about it.

Sorry to see that Dom, glad you're all ok.
I don't know what it's like in the States, but I'd suggest appealing your payout. Speak to the Ombudsman for the company, argue that you should be paid retail, not wholesale (in Canada you’re usually insured for retail or “replacement” value), and start by providing examples of RX8's and their average retail prices. If that doesn’t work, consider whatever regulatory body for appeals.
Good luck!

Sorry Bud!
On the bright side I get to go fishing again. This time I'll get a Tuna,
Still got plenty of places to hide that dead fish in your new 8.
I got lucky today. Some punk Civic Ricer almost clipped me the same way.
I was already half way in the lane before I had to jerk it back. The wife was behind me in the Buick and she saw the whole thing. He came swooped out from a side street and started racing 55 plus in a 35 with bumper to bumper traffic at 5PM.

I know this is a totally different circumstance (you own it together), but it's cool to see a woman showing pride in owning an RX-8.
Good luck to both of you guys. Hope your next 8's even better.

I talked to a guy at a dealership who pulled up in an 8 with his girlfriend while I was waiting to get recall work done back in 2006. He saw my car and started asking me questions, and then started talking about "his" car. Then when he walked away to take care of some paperwork his girlfriend walked over to me and said "don't let him fool you, it's totally my car, I just let him drive it." The look on her face while she was telling me this made me smile pretty hard.
