I'd delete your last 3 posts if I were you, my friend. There are people that have voided their warranty by saying what they have done on RX8Club.

so what's the big deal? or was this just a thread put up to give people yet another reason to bitch and moan about how slow the at is and blah blah blah? So the mt is 1-2 seconds faster in a 0-60....okay...we get it.....2 more gears and and additional horsepower actually makes the same car a atd faster? wow....who would have thuoght that ? I'm glad everyone feels really special about themselves for having purchased a 6 speed, I only wish I had enough cash to buy cookies for you all, you surely deserve them. On the other hand, I'm still trying to understand why the auto gets trashed so hard, I go on runs with fellow car club members all the time (almost all of them have 6 spd 8's, 5 spd FC's and FD's) and have no trouble keeping up whatsoever, just the other day I had a wrx (rs) try and give me a hard time on one of our curvier roads here in town and judging from the way you all talk, you'd swear I had a 6 speed as all I saw from his car (which should have walked my at theoretically) were headlights fading in my rearview. Honestly, this board makes things out to be about 1,000 times worse than they really are, the auto is not that bad and as a true enthusiast I love both models, my wallet is what lead me to the auto and I'm plenty happy with it, shoot, I feel blessed just being lucky enough to own something like the 8 period auto trans and all, I could be stuck in a Kia or neon or some shitty 80's cavalier or something. It sure would be nice if folks could take a step off the high horse every now and then, sure gets old reading all the negative crap that gets flung around here.

It wouldn't be a big deal if people didn't attempt to argue that it wasn't a big difference. Maybe it's the defensive auto owners who are the problem.

Or is it the MT owners that keep saying "Go trade in your lower car and get a slow car"

Yup, 2-second difference on a 0-60 mph scale ain't much, but a 6 lb/ft torque is a LOT! That's like 3 times the difference right there (6 / 2 = 3). A/T is so much faster because of the extra torque, even if it exists at a certain narrow RPM range only. This is why I got the A/T, not because I can't drive M/T and still want to be an F&F follower. Street Racer yo! A/T is teh best! Now I need to hunt for a stock Civic to smoke on the street.

I have lost count of how many automatic vs manual threads are on here. Someone needs to sticky one of them and make it official

Reminds me alot of S2ki where everyone gets all elitist about how fast their slow car is. And considering how much faster the S2000 is when compared to the 6port 8, that's kind of sad. .

The biggest reason the AT is so much slower is the shitty 4spd box. I'd bet that the '06 will be .5 seconds+ faster than the 4spd just because of the new transmission. (I'll believe 215hp when I see it).

What I know you really don't believe that. I have owned both, and YES there is a very big difference, and YES it really is much faster
