The Winning Blue is starting to grow on me. I've seen pics of it in several different lighting scenarios, but I'll still need to see it in person before I can commit to it.

While Winning Blue may be a Mazda 6 color in the Dutch market, it has not been used on any previous models here in the US.

Well... it is called Pacific Blue, but I think it is the same color (only looks brighter on official pics)

Anyway, here in the states, it looks like the same color of "Laser Blue Mica" on the Mazda Protegés (which is a brighter/lighter blue when compared, side by side, to the "Lapis Blue Metallic" from the Mazda6. I recently have been spending a lot of time at Freeman Mazda (- which I highly recommend to anyone here in the Dallas area that's thinking of buying) deciding between the 6 and Protegé5 since my 1990 Ford Probe met it's unfortunate demise prematurely ...

I ended up with a "Black Mica" Protegé5.

Hey, for those of you who have not seen these colors in person, the "Mica" styled paints have little "gold metallic" flecks in it - which is very sweet when direct sunlight hits the car's paint (but in shade it makes the car's paint look a little dusty).

:D

Edit: I did a search on our forum to see if anything more could be added to the "Mica" issue ...

Hm....there will be a new Protege5 (Mazda3) introduced this year and the Mazda6 has more space and drives better....not a very smart choice dude :D But on the other hand; you've only got the Mazda6 sedan; a bit boring if you ask me. The hatchback looks much better!

Yes, if the Mazda6 hatchback was out here, I'm sure that I would have gotten it!

But, I'm confused, the Protegé5 (hatchback/wagon) has been available, here in America since 2002 .... but we won't see the Mazda6 hatchback until this fall or later ...

Anyway, when I drove the Mazda6 (4) and the Protegé5 (4) I liked the Protegé5 feel "behind the wheel" better and being a smaller, lighter car, the "zoom-zoom" was nicer - IMHO

Plus, it was less money so that means I can pass the saving along to my RX-8 purchase ... down the road

:D

Yeah, I'm sorry for you guys that you still haven't got the 6 hatchback and stationwagon (called 'Sport' and 'SportBreak' in Holland)! They really look much better than the sedan
