^correct. coilovers are shorter because they use higher rate springs. preloading during the install won't help much becuase the entire assembly is shorter. Now, if he wanted it lower after the install, it should be set lower and preloaded to get it to the right height immediately. If it isn't preloaded then he will have to wait. Just like DonJuan is doing.

To DonJuan: It is understandable that you don't have the tools to do the job. So if you are fine with waiting then that is fine with me. It seemed that you were concerned with the fact that your 8 hasn't dropped yet so we were just suggesting that preloading will help you.

EDIT: I would still suggest preloading, just have Mikeluvs do it so he can see how much it helps. Have Dominion and Project be there too, so they can see what it does and maybe this debate can stop. I'm sure they will be convinced that preloading helps.

wow!.... I dont think I have ever heard "my buddy this" and "my buddy that" so many times.

anyways,

Project... your a tard. thats all there is to it.

I too thought the pre load was a waist of time. when I put my sprints on I did NOT pre load, and I had the lowest drop of anyone I have seen.... looked awsome!

did a set of MAZDASPEEDs on Kwescotts, did NOT pre load, and it looks great!

but when we installed Lespers RB springs it looked like factory. when I heard/read Racing Beat suguest a preload a few weeks later, I was like "oh yeah right, thats not going to do a thing" I didnt want to do it, I thought it was just crappy RB springs. we did the pre loadanyhways, and BAM.... droped.

We installed a set of Tein S techs on another forum members car (yeah we have done many o many of spring installs) and same freakin thing... looks like stock! had to do the pre load and BAM, lowered car.

I NOW understand that SOME RX-8s and/or some springs require you to pre load the car to take the true drop.

please stop making yourself look like an idiot. This method has been prooven time and time again to work if needed.

Do all RX-8s need to do this? in my opinion no, because I have NOT done it to many cars, and they still drop just fine, including mine. but SOME of the cars we do WILL require it. (Why?.... I dont know)

again, just shut up, be a man, and learn rather then fight yourself. your really doing nothing but making yhourself look like a tard.

oh and for the whole "fighting" thing with Jedi...... yeah, I'd love to see that! HA HA HA. I'm a big dude that has his back.... but he wont need it. We'll just leave it at that.

Someone wants to fight?
You mean to tell me that someone got so upset over a FORUM BOARD that they want to fight someone else?????? Really???
They let someone get under their skin THAT BAD?
They are that upset over words?
A fight over whether you should pre-load or not?
That is Friechen Hilarious!!!!

Who was it?

I completely forgot to add that smiley. Probably my only chance to use it, and I totally botched it.

So do we set up a time and a place, or do we just laugh at the feeble minded?

on a forum like this we are all in a learning process... it shouldnt be shameful to make an assumption and then be proven wrong. Admit it, thank the peeps for the knowledge bomb and move on.

OR - if you are so incredibly insecure and have such a ridiculously pathetic life... start calling out people to meet up so can scrap over PRELOADED SPRINGS. I hope project remembers calling out Jedi next year at SS. I'll fly over just to see the blood bath. I have a feeling project is gonna be walking home with a set of preloaded springs shoved way the fukk up his okole. Hopefully he can find is way to a honda dealership and have them removed... while there, trade in the 8 and get the fukk out of our world.

It's looking good now, it will still probably go down just a bit, but looks much better today! Definitely a noticeable difference from the first pics.

it looks better doesnt it juice.....

like you say it will settle even more over the next few weeks, there is hardly any difference between mine and lespers, so i guess it goes to show you can pre load if you want but to get the same effect you really dont have to.

BigOlundh why are you coming on and stirring up **** dude, you havent posted anything about the thread all you did was just stir up ****, why even bother posting

To DonJuan: Thats what I've been trying to say all along. One way or another, the end result is the same. I've seen people go without preloading and it never completely settles to the full drop, others don't preload and it settles to the full drop within a couple of weeks.

I know that now everyone is going to come on here now and say that no one needs to preload, and while true, how long are they really willing to wait for the drop they paid for? I do it becuase I know it works for me, it drops on the spot, and I'm impatient as hell.

Its basically up to personal preference if you preload or not. I'll still recommend it though, and noone will change my mind on that.
