I'm a big fan of smoked tail lights, even more when they are on a black car. I actually had a buddy of mine that works at a body shop paint mine. He is really good, he just sprayed them until I got them at the shade that I wanted. I'll try to find some pictures they where on my old car. I was thinking about trying to use some sort of Car wrap on my next car to have a less permanent way of tinting my tail lights.

You can reverse VHT. 1000 grit sand paper to sand off the VHT and 10-15 minutes of polishing, with a high speed dril. Had some grit get on my bumper lenses after I sprayed them, had to redo the one.

After you sand it down like that and polish, don't you have to continually polish them like every time you wash the car?
Has anyone tried taking off the VHT and spraying them with clear?

I don't know about that, but if you do you can polish and then spray uv resistant clear on it, this can be done to headlights also.

I just can't agree with tinted lenses, that's why I just open and paint the inside of the heads and tails instead, it just looks so much better imho

*I've been working on a few different ideas, one of them being dual halos for brakes and turn signals while utilizing the brake light dome for reverse lights which will be for my 8 when they're done:D (red lens replaced with dark grey tinted lens, but reverse lights are okay with me to be tinted though)
