OR Spotted VR RX-8 in river

A friend up in Portland sent me this. I'm told it looked brand new with the exception of being in the middle of a river more than half a mile from any roadside. They decided to make the best of the situation and do some tricks on it I guess. Anyone know the story?

... I don't want to believe that's real. I'd have to see the surroundings, but how the hell could it end up there? Washed away in a flood? Wouldn't water moving that quickly move the car as well? Not saying it's a fake, but there's just so many questions about that situation lol...

Edit: Just to clarify... did you friend come across that picture, or did they take the picture and send it to you?

if it is fake... thats a damn good photoshop job. you look through the rear window through to the drivers side and you can see the white water. this is a tough call saying it is or isnt fake. hmm...

I dunno man, the windows look wayyyyyy to clear to be "wet". Then again, the reflections are spot on...

The shadow of the one on top and the reflection of the surroundings on the car....if photoshopped it's done super duper.

The movement of the water over the hood to the windshield makes me think it's real.

It's chopped. The car is dry. Look at the passenger window. It's a total smudge tool mess. There is no hint of the interior or passenger side mirror for that matter. The water between the paddle and the taillights is pretty odd as well. It's a well done chop, but it's a chop none the less.

Its kinda hard to believe the top and sides wouldn't have any beads of water on it being that they are playing all over the car. Im pretty handy in PS and this would be a tough pic to do. Funny pic anyway

Also kind of looks like a traffic light on the reflection of the car just behind the suicide door window

That looks like the reflection of a paddle... I can't see this being real but the chopper has some serious skills if it's fake

Anytime someone posts a pic. everyone jumps to Photoshop. Not always the case. This is defiantly real. Blow the picture up and look at the pixels. the spot behind the door is the reflection of the red ore above it, not a a smudge tool.

Some dumb *** probably pulled to close to an embankment and got sucked in. **** happens, people do some stupid **** in OR its full of hippies!

My friend who I used to work with goes kayaking in the rivers around Portland. He got this picture from some of his kayaking buddies. I hadn't spoken to him in a while. He just saw this and remembered I drive an 8 and thought to send it to me.

To be honest, I questioned whether or not this was real when I got it as well. My friend said that his friends just found it and took pics while they were messing around. I don't have any reason to think they or he forged it.

That makes me sad. If I lived there I would drag it out and claim salvage.
