Slammed And Fitted Thread

With the death of the old thread tiltmode43 started "Aggressive Wheel Fitment Thread," I feel like there isn't really a place for the stanced rx8 community to share their fitment and ask for advice etc. What went wrong was people complaining about their view of what "Fitment" and "Stance" is. If you're lowered at all and have aftermarket wheels feel free to post in this thread and get some feedback. There will not be any complaining about if someone isn't low enough or their offset isn't low enough. Welcome all fitted 8's.

Yes I know I have fake Te37, they will be changing once I am finished College. And yes the stickers have been removed from my wind shield!

SamPappas 07-03-2014 11:16 PM

I almost went with te37 reps. In fact I'm debating on trading these for 19" reps. Looks good though

A few things I need to lower the rear about 1 inch and just dial it all in. and of course paint my gas cap. I switched back to stock, just had to see what aluminum would look like. have a few more upgrades in the making as well.

comebackqid 07-04-2014 07:59 PM

oh yea specs are 18x11 +22 all around 3.5 inch step lip

SamPappas 07-04-2014 08:30 PM

Rotary-RX8 07-04-2014 11:21 PM

SamPappas 07-04-2014 11:45 PM

I really wanted to splurge and get work emotion cr-Kai's when I got these cosmis wheels and I still kinda wish I did..:(

Grace_Excel 07-05-2014 04:13 AM

When you guys went low. Have any of you had front wheel alignment problems? Mine steers to the left if my steering wheels is centered. I haven't driven it sinc and want to take it to a wheel shop, but can this be done by one's self?

Here's mine.

SamPappas 07-05-2014 08:36 AM

Go get an alignment if you haven't yet I'm positive that's your problem. Mine drives straight as an arrow. Side note, car looks really good and I love those wheels

Rotary-RX8 07-05-2014 11:24 AM

^ actually its funny you bring this up. Before getting my coilovers and aligntment went over a huge pothole which scrwwed my alightnment and steering. So i got coilovers on and got an alignment straightened it alot better. But its off maybe by like 5 degrees. Not much but still. Not sure if it has to do with me being lowered.

9krpmrx8 07-05-2014 11:39 AM

Mine is within stock alignment specs.

SamPappas 07-05-2014 10:01 PM

I really wanna take my camber out and see if my wheels still fit lol

Grace_Excel 07-06-2014 07:47 PM

Well, I finally drove the car three days ago and it felt like I was dragging a trailer at the rear. I'll defenitely have to bring it in for alignment. Looking at the rears closely, now that the springs have settled, the left rear wheels were toed-in, the rear of the car was moving to the right which made the car steer to the left if I center the steering wheel. Not obvious in the pictures but it was when I look at it.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...00377819_n.jpg

UPDATE: I just got back from adjusting the alignment. Anyway, this is what I found tonight.

Left Total Toe-in was close to the max(I probably adjusted it without knowing while I was tightening bolts/nuts to preload).
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...22266802_n.jpg

Compared to the right which I assume is the factory setting.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...90706434_n.jpg

Dialed it in to a setting I feel am comfortable and now the car drives smooth and straight again.

Thanks for the advice, I just did it on my own(video I uploaded below). "Burnt the midnight oil" last night and I just dialed it to the same setting as the right side. Left was dialed close to the max-positive setting; which cause the rear to swing right and made the car turn left while the steering wheel is centered, so I adjusted it close to how the opposite side assuming that is the OEM factory setting. I'll leave it at that until it is time to purchase new tires. The car now drives smooth and straight!!!

comebackqid 07-08-2014 12:52 AM

nice good stuff the alignment and the link.

Mr_Pieper 07-14-2014 04:25 PM

Mine looks bad because I painted it myself and did a step wrong. I haven't run over any road debris in like 9 months.

SamPappas 07-14-2014 04:33 PM

Wow you're doing pretty good. I wish I could say the same :(

I really like the Battles. I have the same ones. But I don't have any real intention of changing them out since I'll most likely never have a $2500+ wheel budget

I just got my 8 back with a new engine yesterday, I'll have to post some pictures when I get home!
