i wouldn't reccomend it for a daily driver. Door popper/ solenoids will fail and then your screwed! People have automatic windows and reach down there as well, over time those motors will burn out and fail as well. If your willing to put up with the bullshyt then go for it, but if you want to save yourself some headaches don't do it. Trust me on this one, I drove around in a car for 5 years with shaved door handles and hated every minute of it. Lets see, I went through 5 door popper kits and burned through 2 window motors...

dont matter the kit, over time those motors will burn out and one day you'll try to get into your car, and it wont open, all you hear is a click, then your really screwed...and yes reslae value will be bad as well...totally not worth it, i think the handles on the 8 are beautiful. i'd like to do without the keyhole though..anyone in japan wanna trade!!!!

If you want no key hole just find a plastic cap the diameter of the hole, paint it your body color and plug the hole. Wouldn't be too hard. Or just get a passenger door handle from Japan or the UK (our drivers side door)....

If your worried about a motor burn out, just put a pop release (with a key) or something on the bottom of the car. That way if something happens you can open them manually.

Becareful what pop release you use on the door. Make sure its not that strong. Ultimately it can put a dent from the inside of your door, or even crack your paint..

on top of that they would have to repaint your doors and good luck finding a reputable shop to match the stock color. Also keep in mind that if the body work is not done corretly it will look very wavy and might crack...trust me, i've seen it done a million times.

thanx. i've also seen these symptoms flushed tailgates and doors especially, being subjected to slamming etc... u yanks... there's a few good standard approved panel shops here in Africa believe it or not... we do also use good products such as Glasurit, Meguiers, duplicolour, 'castrol oil'..... if hole is welded up and grinded then ms'd and sprayed properly there wont b cracking. my front bumper and other panels have been sprayed and matched up well already.
