The issue is a lot of people will go cheap on certain modifications to their cars, thats just retarded if you asked me, i would rather pay top dollar and ensure that the job is done right by a reputable place... then i don't have to worry about hick ups and problems

look bro, im in so cali and we've been doing shaved door handle here for many many many years, I've seen enough shaved door handles to last you a lifetime. I was trying to be nice to you and give you the cons about it, but you keep taking it the wrong way and defending your idea. If you don't like constructive critisism than stop trying to defend your idea and ignore me. I have experience about this, my shaved door handles came out perfectly in my car and to this day it still holds up without any cracks, I was mainly emphasizing about the door poppers, merely warning you about what might happen. I had 3 different very reputable audio shops install them and every single kit failed after a period of time. If they've done shaved door handle kits before they would even warn you about how crappy daily driving reliability is. I've even had them install a hidden emergency release pull. Experience bro! If you open up a new thread asking for help expect to get constructive critisism cause if you read your whole thread I was mainly the only one giving you the cons!

I don't think he meant any slam against your country. There are plenty of shops here in the states that can't match paint to save their lives... it's very challenging to do, apparently.

whatever man, i lent my hand and out to you and you took it the wrong way, i've been on this forum for a very long time and this is the first time i've ever met anyone quite like you. It's as if your totally blind. I let bigons be bigons but you still dont get it. I wasnt even trying to slam on africa or you, maybe its the way you interpret things but I guess I was right about you in the first place...from here on out, dont expect to see anything good towards you or your car coming from me.

aw geez, shaved handles is not that big a deal, I had 'em back in the early 90's when solenoid "kits" weren't even available, I used cadillac trunk poppers for mine hooked up to an alarm system that had a "power lock" feature, we wired it up to pop the solenoid instead of my "locks" and that was that. Mind you it was on a hatch with fairly flat doors though, and as mentioned I did get locked out of it once or twice, it was a pain to have work done on it as wherever I took it they'd inveitably leave the keys in it and I'd have to come rescue it etc etc, even got rear ended in it, was in so much shocl I got out of the car only to watch the door get shut by the wind, while my car was running, with all the windows up, in 100+ heat with the a/c cranked. (yeah, that sucked)
My main concern doing it on the 8 would be matching the lines where it's shaved, to do it right you'd need another set of donor doors that you could hack up and use for templates, that could get really pricey if you add in the cost of the doors, labor and materials for filling the holes, matching the paint etc etc etc I think it's a killer look and I'd do it in a heartbeat on mine, but as much as it pains me to say this, our car is really not a good candidate for it. (man that stings, ugh) It is your deal and by all means go for it, just know that it is very impractical and very hard to live with, especially if this car is your daily driver.

If their not welded shut, I would think that their are handles on the inside.
