Adam, you need to buy your old car back. It looks like Sam has gotten bored again already.

I would like to but I don't think I could afford modding two RX-8's, one is enough for now.

Got a few things in the mail last week, progress has been slow with the car lately but updates will come slowly but surely. The pulley is from Super Now it will be powder coated along with my stock pullies. And the canards are from Odula, the fit isnt perfect so I will have to figure out the best approach to fitting them better before I mount them for good. I think they are pretty good looking though. Haven't really seen them on many 8s here in the US.

Thanks. I love the look of them too. They were just over $300 though. Both sections top and bottom need modification for perfect fitment though.

Had some nice weather recently and with cheap gas prices I figured taking the 8 for a drive was a good idea. It felt nice to drive it again.

Starting to get the time to do some things with the car so next up is replacing the stock expansion tank, mounting up an oil catch can, finishing up my tray over the radiator, and mounting the canards.

Heres the good stuff.

Made some progress with the car, got my canards mounted. Not painted yet but they match well enough for me to enjoy. Took the car out for a drive before I finish swapping the expansion tank.

Holes when canards are not installed.

The new guy is asking 10k. I think it's up in St. Charles somewhere. The CL ad has prices listed for all the parts and they are way inflated. Stance coils cost $1500 now.

Yea, I thought that was funny last night. I got all those parts much cheaper than listed. Unfortunatly RX-8s just dont hold value.

Nice coolant reservoir, I modified Canton reservoirs for use in my setup as well.

The tray and intake are not bolted up in this pic.

I thought that those looked like the same style, looks like you got the larger version. I have a few other things going on now but I have all my new bungs welded on and fittings ready. Ill most likely swap it when I drain the coolant to switch it out. Hoping everything goes well.

I love your intake set-up. That is on my to do list. I have lots of fuel trim movement now and thing a little longer intake with some screens may help it out.

Yeah they are great reservoirs, price wise they just make sense. I just had to add bungs for my specific use for the coolant reservoir and the turbo coolant reservoir. It worked perfect for the SOHN reservoir. And I added the push to connect hose and fittings as level sights.

The intake was a chore to get perfect and I will likely make one small change the next time I have the engine out. The intake work great though, it has a honeycomb straightener riveted in a few inches in front of the MAF.

This is a more complete picture, I just need to add some riv nuts for the air diversion panel and I can slap the bumper back on and rock and roll. It's never done though, I can already see quite a few things I want to fix. The next intake tray will be laser cut just like our lower under trays are.

Damn, so this your car. I've seen it many times in Instagram. One of the reasons why I got a full Burnout kit and MB Battles back then. :P

Your set-up looks good and it keeps improving it seems. I will likely do a tray similar to yours unless I try something different with this hood.

I really like your intake though. Do you know where you got your MAF screen? I've seen a few different ones but haven't made a decision yet.

Yep this is the same one from instagram im sure. Its a lot easier to update on there than here.

I loved having that kit on the old car and MBs look good on the 8 but its pretty common now a days.

Just let me know when you are ready I can sell you just the Billet MAF housing with the built in honeycomb. I have a company make them to my specs and then we make the rest of the intake. The company sells standard ones but they were too long for my needs.

This has been March in St Louis and the jeep has been great. The RX 8 hasnt gotten out much at all this winter.

I have been anxious for spring but also have so many things I still want to get done with my car before then. I am trying to finish up a couple older projects and also a few new ones. Everything is planned out but just needs to be completed now.

I bought an RE Amemiya hood from the forums and have also had my wheel color switched up. I hope to have the hood painted by next weekend.

I bought a Mishimoto Catch Can which I am waiting to put in until I make a fancy mount area for.

My Canton Coolant tank is all ready to go in but I plan to drain the coolant when I install that. Once this is done I hope to finish up my radiator air tray.

Id likely plan to keep the Pettit MAF housing but I think I will be joining a 10" section to that and put my filter in the bumper area.

Damn, would love that coolant tank. Would love to see you mount that thing. How will you be checking fluid levels?
