Holy crap I've been looking for this webpage forever. :D

Isn't Curve AD somehow related to Ab-Flug?

Unfortunately you'd probably have to open the rear doors to get in the front.....

no you don't have to, but the space that is available from the lambo doors is quite small, and opening the rear doors would help with space.

i honestly think it is stupid.

This could be the new " Lambo door diet" !!!!

If you don't lose weight you can't drive the 8

****, even when I was in tip-top shape I had a 52" chest. There's no way I could get into my 8 with doors like these. Cool concept, poor execution.

I heard most kits open 20 inches out before going up... it gives you room to get out incase of a low ceiling...any US sites offering this kit?

There was a thread about scissor doors. This concept didn't go very far. Personally, I don't like scissor doors, unless they're on a Lamborghini. I would rather spend my money on something I can use (turbo).

I've had a chance to play with scissor doors at a recent car show (don't know what brand the kit was). The way those worked was they opened WIDE like a normal door. The only difference was that when opened about 12" or more, you had the option to swing the door UP as well. Also, the hardware was built extremely beefy, about 1" thick aluminum wedged between the body frame and outer fender. I was pretty impressed at the build and the door closed solidly like normal.

Doubt I'd get them, though they are growing on me. But then again, they'd probably fit right in with the rest of my car.

looks like complete crap...and if you're going to make such a kit to rice out a car and make you look like something you're not..then at least market the kit with the correct NAME...those are NOT gullwing doors...gullwing doors (i.e. Delorean) open parallel to the ground with the hinge mount on the roof not perpendicular with the hinges mounted close to the normal mounting on the rear of the front quarter panels..

Don't lambo doors use compressed air and come straight up? The ones on the 8 look like they come out a bit as well as up so theres probably more room to get in than it looks like from the side view.

Of course...I'm really skinny, so it might not be too much of a problem for me.

I agree with Mikeb. If I had the cash I would most likely go for the switch. To each his own I guess.

its not a bad idea but only one problem, if you have ever seen these in person they are extremely easy to knock off track and you have to hold the door a certain way for it to close or you can damage the door or the fender
