RX8 appears in 'Chaos Theory' DVD (trailer, no BS)

CHAOS THEORY ON WHEELS
DVD - Dolby 5.1

Join me as I take you on a controversial hunt for the best and worst car ever made by getting behind the wheel of 17 different ones and driving them much too quickly around corners. And a select few of the most terrible and dreadful ones, get filled with gasoline, and a match.
Put simply, if you like cars, you are going to love this DVD.
And, if you love cars, you are going to be astonished! –Scott VanPala

Trailer 1 (20.4mb):

Sorry for the plug, but I think you will be more than interested in seeing the RX-8 compete in an all-things-considered heads up sports coupe shootout from a production company that isnt on the gravy train. And that means I can tell you that the 350Z is a bloated Datsun with a Renault engine. That the G35 is the automotive equivalent of John Kerry. That the Lexus IS300 is more boring than Marissa from the O.C. And I can show you how, while attempting to negotiate a corner, the Dodge Viper tries to commit suicide. With me in it! I can tell you that the exhilarating and astounding Ferrari 430 isnt the best car ever, and that the Porsche 911 Turbo is by no means the most exciting car in the world. But, is it praise or mock for the lightweight, perfectly balanced, RX-8? The answer may just surprise you...

Polak,
That is my 8 in the video. It hasn't been turboed yet, this spring I'm doing it.
That video is pretty good, Scott, the director praises the 8 and points out the negatives of all of the sports compact cars shown, it had the best backround music too.

Yup in that short little trailler i saw the brake calipers and remember you, anything else done to the car beside the MS kit and RB intake and exhaust as I last recall.

My video came in a couple of days ago and I am sorely dissapointed in this purchased. I haven't had that "why did spend my ****** money on this ****" feeling in a very long time.

From watching the trailers and teasers, one would expect to gain some kind of insight or get a better understanding what the true nature of these cars are, as if the director is supposed to deliver us from misinformed or malformed opinions that have been nurtured by advertisements or fluffy magazine articles. I really thought was going to get something out of this...but...nahhh..I was bored to death and unstimulated.

The selection of vehicles in this piece don't really follow any sort of archetype, just a random bit of cars and you don't know why the cars are selected for this "challenge." You'll see the following cars (in this order): the Mini Cooper, Dodge Viper, G35, 350Z, RX-8, IS300, SRT4, 330i, Pontiac Sunfire, Hyundai Elantra, Ford Focus, Corvette, Volkswagon Phaeton, Ferrari 430 Spider, and 911 Turbo. Look at this list of cars. If you were trying to find the best car in the world, wouldn't you have had a more broad selection or at least maybe he should revise his mission statement, to something like....I dunno. There's an overall lack of structure and organization to the film I wasn't quite sure what precisely he was trying to accomplish and convey to his audience. I was left wondering why some vehicles were excluded and why some were included since his mission is to find the "best car in the world" which he states more than enough to be annoying.

The biggest annoyance of this film is his poorly executed British accent. It seems he's taken far too many cues from that guy in Top Gear. His accent and under-acted/unnatural delivery of what seem to be scripted lines ruin the whole thing. It isn't that the lines are corny..well..some are. All of what he's saying can be really entertaining, but sadly if it came out of someone else's mouth. There are some points were he'll get stuck in a boot-loop and repetitiously delivers the cusp to his punchline. I can't do a great job of describing that; it's something that has to be heard.

I tried very hard to listen to his reviews of the cars to find the substance or the glue to hold all of this business together, but there was were little. He gives a good introduction of each car, but whilst reviewing each you're left hearing him babble and ramble on about his likes or dislikes without learning much of anything. There are no baseline tests or any organization or format to each car review. You're much better off watching "Car and Driver" or "Top Gear" for more informed reviews.
The trailers were very promising and the little quips about the Viper trying to commit suicide with him it or the drag race. OMG the drag race....was so pitiful. None of the cars were properly launched and you can see the poor reaction time in two of the cars after "go." The RX-8 which finished poorly had a pathetic crawl of a start, and who here doesn't know that this is a car that has to be kicked in the nuts to launch it just right.

There's so much freakin hype in this thing. I thought "man, this is gonna be some good ***-****, this is gonna be that video I show to all my friends, this looks like it's gonna be an underground classic, I can't wait to see how he tears up these cars" but...noooo....watch him drive around a parking lot, watch him spin around a bit doin donuts, crappily delivered commentary, severe lack of structure, didn't learn anything that I already knew....just....disappointing. I'm really pissed cuz I wanted so badly to like this film.

Anyway, this rant is almost over. I forgot tell you what I liked about the film. I love the way he praises the RX-8. I really liked how he tore up that Sunfire and Elantra. That was funny. Those are two cars that I really don't like. You get to see how cheap the SRT-4 really is. Seeing it in this video is just as good as seeing it in person.

I'm done, I think I've wasted enough time on this. If anyone really wants to see this...I guess to see if I'm being a dick or really full of ****, send me a PM and we can arrange something.

he is prolly over at the 350Z and IS300 forums sayin the total opposite just to advertise for his video.

"the rx8 is just a glorified ford, you guys got the real sports cars!"

or some BS
