RX7 vs RX8 (video)

There is no sound but very intersting, I think.

Let's just enjoy the chase

Thank you Yuhki-san! That's an amazing video. The RX-8 looks like it is on rails (as a train) and VERY quick. No torque eh? He-he...

Also: so the RX-7 (turbo right?) can't keep up with the RX-8 that easily but the RX-8 is nailed to the rear of the RX-7. This is going to be fun... :D

I was thinking the same thing Lensman, but at the end when the track straightened out, the RX-7 took off. That's ok though, still loved the videos and the 8 will be plenty quick enough if that video is any indication of it's speed and agility.

True, but it didn't take off very far and when the RX-8 was in front it seemed to stay further in front on average. It could be down to the drivers of course.

the rx-7 also has lots more torque, ~50 more lbs-ft, and it's also lighter, so it's bound to pull away on the straights

What's the deal? My media player says it's playing, but all I see is a blank screen. Can someone offer me some tech support please, I really want to see this video.

It's been a while since I've watched those clips, but a blank screen usually indicates you don't have the necessary codec. Try the DIVX codec.

good find!

i agree with all above, the RX-8 outhandled the RX-7 through every turn...when the RX-8 was in the back you see the RX-7 oversteering constantly and sliding through almost every turn, while the RX-8 took every single corner without any kind of drift...and yes, during the curvy sections, the RX-8 took a wider lead then when the 7 was in front...but the 7 did take off in the straightaway...

if it weren't for the 2 or 3 times that the 8 had to brake to avoid rear ending the RX-7, i think the 8 would have won tha race
