uh, what?
I hate when people put up pictures of an undone job. Once he gets the lights, and all the little finishing touches done, then he should post photos. Until those photos are up, you should expect nothing but hating, because this looks terrible being not finished at all. Once it is complete it will probably have quite a few haters because this is so different, but once it is finished I am sure you can find a few angles that a few on here will like, but as it stands this does not look that great, this is the wrong car for this kit to go on.

Well its not an 8 anymore...but i can dig it, major points for work, originality, and for designing the new Batmobile. After the last movie there going to need a new one so they should call you.

Love the matte paint, but I know that's not everyone's thing. Kudos for the effort, I'd drive it. Who cares if the rear doors are no longer functional, may have kinda been the point. By the way, I'm new to this site and love these boards so far. Are there any other sites like this one that I should check out?

Yeah it is definitely not for everyone and I agree about the rear door seams. You can also check out www.rotary4life.com, nice site.

I posted up in one of the hundreds of re-posted threads about this car but wanted to offer my limited opinion here.
I'm pretty impressed by the body work and the design that was put into this RX8. It's truly unique in the sense that no one has seemed to have created a whole external body of this design. The job is very clean, complete and a real looker.
However, what really bothers me is this is clearly an attempt to imitate the Reventon which clearly an ultra rare super car. While imitation is the highest form of flattery I think the owner of this RX8 would have been better served to incorporate design queues but not attempt to reproduce the RX8 version of that car.
I realize that it's easy for me to be a critic but people trying to mold their own car into something that they may or may not be able to ever own does give me pause. No matter how cool this RX8 is, it's not a Reventon. You'll end up living in the shadow if something much bigger no matter how close you can get to it. Perhaps similar to trying to pass off a Shelby Cobra kit car or replica as the real deal built by Shelby.
So while I give this car an A for effort, build and overall cleanliness I think the owner does themselves a great disservice by trying to imitate a car that is leagues above the RX8.

+1. They could custom fab all the parts to be an exact replica and it would still be just a replica. I'm pretty sure most people would give a civic owner **** if he made a kit that makes his car (almost) like like an rx-8. If I had a car that performed just as well, I would prefer to leave it so it is obviously whatever car it is.
