This is an old pic!! I see this thread being closed in the next couple of days because people will debate this issue over and over. This whole rota vs name brand rims is as big as the presidential campaigns. Each person has their own opinion on rims.

I've seen plenty of lambo, ferrari, and even stock rx8 rims break in similar ways. The question is if this rim broke because of G forces combined with wider tires or what..

Thats good information to know that rota's arent the only rim that could break this way. From the looks of this pic it looks like this person might have hit a curb real hard or something. Who know what could have happended to this rim.

id still get some rotas if i had money for them. ive seen some rx8 wheels shatter! as long as you dont plan on crashing into any curbs your fine. even if they do crack they're easy to replace

another classic case of get what you paid for. i still can't believe people stand up for and purchase such garbage. ESPECIALLY rx-8 owners.

stay on subject dude!! look at post #3 mysql is trying to figure out what happended to this rim since he's seen this happend to lambos and ferrraris? so i guess according to you the people that purchased lambos and ferrari's purchased garbage cars with garbage wheels because their rims broke off? I guess they got what they paid for

As far as the rim that was twisted (the subzeros) if you read into it a little the rim actually hit the caliper which inturn caused the twist.

wrong

spoon has only made one wheel, the sw388 (which is actually a rebranded and flat black version of the desmond regamaster evo)

The rota copy of that is the slipstream.
