Red Breaks on a Phantom Blue?

I was fooling around with my paint tools on the computer, and I thought "What would painted brake calipers look like on a phantom blue?" After a very detailed, brain surgeon precision work on the paint tool... this is my result!

Should I paint them red? Red is going to be a theme in my engine bay and interior, so I thought maybe a little on the exterior would fit?

well breaks are usually in minutes and not colors

I wouldnt do red calipers though, on any color car, I have mine done in a shade of blue, doesnt really stand out but looks a lot better than just the plain old used look.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about it either. My stock calipers just look pretty crappy! Maybe a gray to match the rims a little...?

By the way, Roidz24, other than your rims, our cars are going to be pretty identical! I swear, I haven't copied you! lol

I say get a can of the PB paint, give them a blended, subtle tone. Like it came from the factory that way. This is my plan once I get to that part of my mod list.

This is actually something I've considered. But, I've always heard that PB is a hard color to match?

Still too bright for me. Perhaps gloss black, if you are worried about paint matching.

Blue or Black...if you have aftermarket, otherwise just do gray.

Uh huh, sure. They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Just messin with ya. I've thought about painting my calipers black since my wheels are stock, but....... hopefully not for long.

I'm gonna go with black too... When someone has red brake calipers, the first thing someone looking at it thinks is "look, red brake calipers"... I think if you had them black that people would know that something looks good but not be able to immediately tell what... Which makes people admire the whole car instead of just the color of the calipers.

Or you could always just go with a shiny gold. That wouldn't be too flashy either

altspace, yours is okay since your car's whole theme is red lol

If you want others to notice the calipers, go with silver or gold
If you want a stealthy but still noticeable, go black

Aipex8, I like your set up! What rims are those?

haha I'm definitely not a ricer! I've just seen some nice 8's with red calipers and thought it looked cool. I'll admit, after I painted that pic, I thought it looked way too flashy! Now I'm considering going either black or grey (I like classy stealth). Also, Phantom Blue is such a different color that I wanted to do something to her that hasn't been done yet! I'm set on the MS front bumper, as well as the OEM side aero flares (sorry Roidz8!). I've ordered clear corners and stakes. She'll be stored for the winter, so I'll have plenty of time (6-7 bloody months ) to add mods. The turbo that I was hoping to run is not available ATM. So, it's all cosmetics for now!

Thanks for the advice!!!

Then paint your car red.

I'd go blue if your really serious.

eww. I would never do red calipers on any color car as a couple other members have already stated. I simply painted mine black. Looks A++++ with drilled and slotted rotors.
