Would you buy the header again?

definately, if i started all over again, this header would be one of my first upgrades. Along with the BHR ignition, AEM CAI, MM maps, and a oil catch can.

I have been thinking about parts in general as a complete system. I have the HKS Hi-power, BHR mid pipe now, BHR ignition, Cobb, etc. and after reading up on the header and intake I may go that route. Not much bang for the buck but what the heck.

just give yourself some extra time...because its a royal pain to install. I'd take my SSV out again instead of changing my header.

But it really is worth it, imo.

Yeah I bet it is a bitch. But header installs usually are. Try it on a 4.6 Modular Mustang and you will think the RX-8 is easy

Yea I only did an X-pipe and axle back install on a 08 GT mustang a few months ago. Yea the headers do not look fun at all.

Do you have any tips for the install? I assume the header bolts should not be too bad since the header was off when they put this motor in last year.

Well, you have to raise the engine up in steps to clear certain sections of the engine mount. I'd get a new can of PB Blaster and some food b/c you'll be there for awhile. The biggest bitch was getting the engine mount to sit right.

If you don't have any socket joints and extensions, you'll need them.

Using a block of wood and a jack on the pan? Would removing the mount all together make it easier? Would doing it on a lift make it easier?

We removed both my engine mounts to install mine. Had a lift on the engine brackets also to hang the engine in air, then pushed the block over. Lots of room that way.

Thats what i did. I removed the mount as well. A lift makes it always easier.

That sounds like a much better approach.

Ty, ty. As far as drone, it was significantly reduced thanks to the dual resonated midpipe...when compared to my old exoticspeed midpipe.

I feel that the RB header and RB dual resonated midpipe combo smooths everything out. The header increases midrange torque.
