On a side note, that ITR really pushed the limit....do the Golf R32's and the Alfa 147 GTA's suck that bad?

Anyway, this makes me really happy everytime I drive my 8!

so it takes all the mazdaspeed parts to put us in the same league as a stock s2k........

 

...and still WAY less money!!

exactly. a stock s2k can buy you a full mazdaspeed rx8 (maybe not body kit) and you might still have a couple grand in your pocket

 

Gotta love cynical people. Just get an S2k or Evo or STi or something

No thanks already. I love my 8 too much ^_^ even if it needs some work to compete wth an s2k on a higher speed track

 

the only thing ms my 8 has is side skirts. i'm gonna get a ms front bumper and a carbon fiber hood. i think that's all the ms stuff i'm gonna get.

 

Even if the 8 gets eaten alive by every car on the planet in performance, I still feel that it beats them hands down in looks. Seriously, how many people push their car to the absolute maximum on the streets? So for a semi law abiding citizen for whom absolute maximum very, very rarely comes into play, looks play a big part and I feel like I am light years ahead of all the other cars within a $20,000 price range.

 

Pretty cool. Yeah R32s are heavy, have bad weight distribution, and have the AWD to slow them down.

the S2000 looked faster than the RX8 in the first couple of laps. I wonder what happed to him ?
also the RX8 seemed to be be able to apply full power in mid corner where the other cars were waiting a bit longer. good job mazda !

 

people dont seem to understand, rx8 has a 1.3 liter with 4 seats!!and 4 doors!!! the s2k has a 2.2 liter with only 2 seats and 2 doors!!! of COURSE IT HAS to be faster!!! so nice to know that the 8 can keep up and still look better!

 

I know....I'm so happy that our 8's can keep up and be a very strong competitor to the S2K which obviously is like a go-kart with leather! lol :P You know what tho....the ITR with 205hp or so; probably the slowest out of the gang came in third, that's a marvelous effort. I used to own a 1999 ITR, and that thing pulled hard. Which is why I love my high-revving cars - hence my Rx-8!
