Try www.neatimage.com - could clean that up very nicely - what lens were you shooting with? Sorry - "With what lens were you shooting?" :) f/5.6? how wide can it go? The sky seems blown-out some. One thing I've learned is to reduce the contrast on shots - even if the sky is gray (due to clouds) reducing contrast allows me to at least see the clouds.

over-all good composition, however I find the edges of the image a waste - tighter crop, IMO, would make a more-interesting shot.

Nice Star! Blown out sky again. F/8 and ISO 400 - a little too contrasty, IMO, but otherwise cool.

17-35mm EX Sigma Aspherical HSM (decent lens) was used for 006 007 and 008
its 2.8F at 17mm and 4.0F at 35mm I was using a higher fstop for more sharpness, (dim light)

Your Favorite was shot with a cheep 28-200mm Sigma Aspherical IF at full zoom hence why the image looks softer.... as far as squished its unedited.....

RR:
Yes i do they are next to some really white LEDs...

Hello,

Nice clean looking RX-8. Sometimes wish I got the Titanium instead of Sunlight. Love the alloys, what make are they? Just the type I am looking for.

Thanks,

Darran. :)

Try NeatImage - does wonders removing ISO noise! :)

Does it look too wide, thought? the perspective seems off.

Feras 06-18-2007 03:29 PM

damn mark, thats gotta be the second best looking titanium grey ive ever seen.

maxxdamigz 06-18-2007 03:29 PM

I have to find someone who cares to take pictures of my car someday. I guess that'll be after I find someone who cares to detail it. I care plenty about driving it.

Jedi54 06-18-2007 03:41 PM

AJ's Shinka 06-18-2007 03:49 PM

Pay attention to the sky next time. Your camera was definitely over exposing the sky and my eyes are immediately drawn to that. Did you shoot in raw by chance?

That one above ^ is brilliant though. Maybe a touch dark and the back of the car is a little soft, but the composition is perfect.

This is how I personally see this shot.... I couldn't fix the blown out sky, perhaps with the raw file or original JPG from the camera something could be done, or just put in a fake sky...

Yes i shot in Raws, due to lighting condition (it was 8:30pm EST) i woulda had to done HDR to make the sky look right.

RAW FTW!

Try pushing a bit, then select low contrast in your RAW conversion software.

'87 Turbo II 06-18-2007 05:42 PM

Quite talented with a camera. I'd recomend a split neutral density filter for the sky or a graduated filter. With or without any sky treatment, these pics are amazing and I love the soft focus of the 3rd image you posted here, clever to use a cheaper lense because this looks like an advertisement!

If you dont mind, upload the raw and lets see what we can do!

dmp 06-18-2007 08:10 PM

(one of) my take(s)....I'm not a JDM-angle fan, though...But to me, this image is rich, and a bit passionate - w/o having to worry about the blown-out sky.

Polak, i only saw one raw, am i looking in the wrong spot?

PoLaK 06-18-2007 09:27 PM

dmp you have any profiles for neatimage couldn't quite figure the program (pro version) out.

Also this is a good of a place as any to ask, do any of you have spare zoom lens for sale, something with better glass and lower fstop at full zoom than the Sigma i mentioned earlier.

Yeah - Neat can be a bit tricky - when I get time today I'll try to walk you thru how I use it.

I may be selling my 70-200 f/4 L soon. I'll get you a note if I decide to sell it, and you're interested.

Nice pics.

Aipex8 06-19-2007 02:02 PM

Polak, your car looks great. Since your JIC Magic wheel GB fell through I've been looking at other wheel choices and the RP03 is up there on my list. How do the 9.5 +38s work for you? Any rubbing front or rear? They look mean as hell! Any suggestions on where to get them in that size? Oh, and could you clarify what size tire you're running? Your sig says 275 but you posted 265. Thanks.

PoLaK 06-19-2007 11:18 PM

They are 265/35 AD07s.
Whats odd is 265 ad07s are wider than 275 rt-615s, you'd think a mm was standardized :scratchhe

Because i am at 26'' ride height i had to use one of these: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...7&postcount=36

If i had run the narrower 275 RT-615 or stayed at stock ride height i don't believe it would have rubbed.

Nick R 06-20-2007 08:58 PM

The advan has a nice wide foot print compared to tires of the same supposed size due in part to its very vertical sidewall. Part of the reason why I absolutely love them, gives a very agressive look.

Once again absolutely love the car, very tastefully done. Probably one of my favs on the boards.

MazdaJeff 06-20-2007 11:44 PM

Sweet pics!

g4crx 06-21-2007 01:30 AM

mikeferz42 06-21-2007 01:38 AM

polak, the height of the car is pefect. what coilovers, or spring/shock set up are u using? and how much drop?

PoLaK 06-22-2007 10:16 PM

really didn't measure the drop before and after the coilover install, they are KW variant 3s see my signature for the group buy, but ride height is set at 26''.

heres my fix of the blown out sky on my favorite image.
https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1182782467

cleoent 06-27-2007 01:23 PM

good fix!

DMP, what i did was put the picture through photomatix using the raw image. It then made a "fake" HDR pic which was able to bring out the sky a bit more.

My guess is Polak did a similar procedure.
