Pinstripes
I found this oddball 8 with pinstripes. I am assuming that the dealer put them on, because I haven't seen them before. Needless to say, they didn't last long.

Wonder if they put a fresh coat of wax on the car, and then decided it would look "cool" with universal DIY stripes. Couldn't do pinstripes on my 8.

Pin Stripes Bad...
I would say it was a good thing that happened. Makes removing the pin stripes easier. Hate to see someone have to go through that extra work on one of their first washes though.
I'm going to remove the pin stripes on mine 8 sometime before my first detail job on it. I'm assuming a hair drier and hard rubber type putty knife will do the job, maybe not even need the hair drier if I do it on a warm day. But a little research will be done first before doing it.
Anyway, I hope you got it all removed without too much hassle and it will look better without them (IMO).
