ANyone here have pinstripes on their 8 or have pics of any 8's with pinstripes?

My manger here just came back from a Mazda carshow and saw an 8 with pinstipes accenting the lines of the RX-8 like along the triangular scoop part of the hood and along the side.

So it's my mission to find a pic of something like that and see if we can duplicate it on one of our own RX-8s on the lot and try to attract some attention.

My 8 came with pinstripes, but I didn't like them.

First pic is on the lot with pinstrips, second two pictures is after taking off the pinstripes.

 

hmm didn't think any 8's came with pinstrips......or is it only on the shinka's?

personaly i never really liked pinstrips but that just my opinion..and we all know about those :p

 

I don't believe they come with pinstripes. I kind of think maybe the dealership put them on (probably the same time they put on the dealership sticker that I also took off).

I agree, I don't like pinstripes.

 

hand painted pinstripes would look awesome on a flat back 8, but I doubt we will ever see that

 

pinstripes don't belong on the 8..only honda accords..hahah

As far as I'm concerned, the 8 has plenty of its own lines -- no need for the dealer to add any.

does anyone remember the thread with another 8 that had pin strips and they asked if it was normal that they looked as though they were falling off?? turned out they really were just falling off...now i need to find that thread....but yea, the 8 shouldn't have them

who thell pinstriped the shinka? thats just stupid and im hapy you took them off.

to kicker774- brian why didnt you manager take a picture of the one he saw. why dont you just call the place he saw it and get a pic from them. make sure you post it here and tell us where the car is so we can flame them

 

OK here's a few pics of the results so far. Very fine pinstripe line, may be hard to see on the side pics.

Nothing horrible, but nothing that makes it stick out.
Perhaps an extra little thing to mention to a customer when their looking at it.

 

Nobody replied to this, but that is not horribly bad. I prefer mine without, but hey...there is probably somebody out there that will like it.

 

I think it just distracts the eye from the cars normal lines

 

I've seen cream color pinstripes on a blue 8 before. it was ugly as sin. I had to resist the urge to "do the guy a favor" and pull them off. haha :D

Mine came with them...I did not like them at first but it was too good of a deal on the specific car to worry about asking them to take them off...I managed such a good deal that when I asked about a mazda keychain he laughed and said that if he gave me any more he'd lose his job! Needless to say I didn't ask them to remove the pinstripes. I figured I'd remove them myself later. Now that I have had them for a little bit I kind of like them, not many 8's have them so it is kind of unique. I'll try to post a picture soon...I do kind of like it coming across the hood but that is just me, what can you say I have turned into a pinstripe dork I guess :D
