Has your gearbox been rebuilt before? I know it's a weird question.

Yeah it has, by Mazda because it was making a rattling noise. They did absolutely nothing to it, because it still makes that noise when going in reverse. The problem is caused by the way the release bearing for my performance clutch is made. It's all good though, can't really notice it much

Actually, I've seen a ton of these boxes and they normally have a very sloppy orange sealer visible between the cases from the manufacturer. A dear friend of mine was at a dealer who told him that his gearbox had been clearly opened before due to this exposed sealer (Refusing him warranty repairs). Due to my experience yours actually revealed the facts of it's history because it looked more normal and clean.

I didn't use Royal Purple fluids for my drivetrain simply because of the fantastic reviews the Redline products recieved.

As far as the front plates go, I have mine on my dash board

How's the shifting feeling after switchin to the Redline? Little smoother? Nice pics by the way.

Mike, I can't possibly describe the difference... in all honosty, it is the best thing that has happened to my gearbox. It's extremely smooth, and much more quite.

I highly recommend you flush your fluids.

Great news. That has been the next investment I have been planning for the 8. I will sleep great tonight dreaming of the slick shifting in the near future!!

Did you replace the crush washers when you changed the fluids, if not I hope you don't develop a leak.
