Think you could have turned on the hazards, so we could see them side by side? LOL

Looks good... I think

Just added pic with hazards on and both amber and red bulbs on at the same time in original post.

Well I decided to get rid of them. I might try a different pair of red bulbs before I give up and go back to amber or a 1/2 amber 1/2 chrome (chrome-dome) from autolumination.

Listed in the For Sale section: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/fs-two-red-polarg-7440-bulbs-rear-turn-signals-193308/

I tried chrome-looking amber bulbs (they were from stealthauto.com) and they were very dim, so I'd be careful with that route.
Perhaps there are different stealth bulbs that are brighter, but the ones I tried were not good. I got rid of them very quickly.
No idea how good the autolumination bulbs are but the reputation of their products is not too reassuring.

I came across the Stealth Auto bulbs. They were $28.95 plus $7.95 shipping, which I thought was incredibly pricey. Thanks for letting me know your experience before I bought the subpar bulbs.

I also have not heard good things about Autolumination. I tried them once and they were crap bulbs.

For those looking at replacement bulbs. Be wary of 7440 bulbs with dark gray/black plastic bottoms. Those bulbs seem to have ill-fitting plugs and don't work that great. Read this in multiple places online. The chrome autolumination bulbs have those bottoms.

The only good chrome bulb I have read about is the PIAA mirror chrome bulbs. The RX-8 owners that have used them have given them good marks. One person said they were brighter than stock. But they tend to be pricey at $30 something before shipping.

I may try them...
