Photo's from Birmingham

Well, I was a little dissapointed.... if not surprised to see the older CYM yellow version of the car at the Birmingham motor show....

And even less surprised that we weren't allowed anywhere near it... but between us we have some photo's to share at least.

Hope you guys like them... I've left them exactly as they came off the camera's so some of them are VERY high res... but we had no tripod or the like so some might look a little shaky if you zoom in... havent tried that yet!

Let me know what you think...

I didn't manage to get any decent pics of the 8 which was a real shame. I was also disappointed how you couldn't even get near it.

I thought that you had a 2 day pass,,,, do you have a laptop too?

Did you notice that we got some shots from the hospitality section above the car?? We had to ask REALLY nicely!

Well... I wonder what kept you away today... I didn't see you, but there were LOTS of people around...

You can't touch that car because it's not real, basically!!! that's why they keep you away from it!... They did tell me that it would be announced along with pricing in Jan though.

I had the Canon S30.

I went to Spain with a couple of my buddies, we had just left our bags for a bit in malaga and our rental (a stupid fiat punto) was broken into and everything was stole everything - from my passport to cameras to mp3 players, tickets travellor cheaques etc....

the trip was crazy - but my dad got me the camera as a bday present and he bought it on his visa - so he got the money back and gave me the cash

yikes, put some slight compression on, 2MB+ per pic is kinda excessive.

Yeah, I'm was gonna..... but I just stuck the files up there when I got home, I was tired! anyway I've put -LOW versions of the file up there now which are by no means low res, but are about 1/4 the size (1600x1200ish) and higher compression.... I know that we're all detail junkies, I BET noone downloads the low res versions, even though you need a screen res of more than 1600x1200 to see any difference.

PoLaK, sorry about the upload speed... but the files are big.... and there are a few people downloading them!.. the actual connection is 256K...

Who asked about what cameras? The low res ones are off my Canon Digital IXUS and the high res ones are off a friend's Fuji S2 Pro.

Edit:-

Woah!,... those of you that took the time to download the 2Meg files.... try Zoom!!! Those things off Mike's camera are pretty mean.... I suppose having a 1Gb compactflash card probably makes it tempting to take the pictures at max res!..
That said I have a 192Mb card in my IXUS.

Challenge....

OK, who's got contacts...

There was a video playing at the motorshow on the big screen behind the RX-8.... and it had some new footage of the new red RX-8.... . If someone were able to "find" a copy of that video as an mpeg, we'd be very happy indeed.

None of your proprietory Quicktime files thankyou! LOL... Is it me or is Quicktime universally hated? I have a number of friends still locked into Windows and they hate Quciktime too!

Why do so many web sites insist that it's the best thing since sliced bread?

Why did they let people into it at the other motor shows and not in Birmingham? Seems a bit strange to me.

I don't know if they let the general public near it at ANY of the shows... but either way, it's a shame... it somehow doesn't seem real being up there on a turntable... you couldn't get a feel for it..

Did you get to see it/take any photo's?

Oops.....

Didn't anyone notice that I hadn't actually uploaded the LOW rez versions of the files for those without bandwidth... (or time to waste)....

If you were reluctant to download the 2Meg files before I've got them reduced to a few hundred K's now.

Hi Blue Adept,

Real good pics , l have more on mazdarotaryclub.com forum with engine shots .
They let me sit in this car at the sportscar show a few months ago , and your right they didn't let joe public near the car because it's a complet dummy with an electric engine just to let it get on and off the stand !!
l was real disapointed because they told me a couple of months before that show they would have a red pre prod model there !
lf it's news to anybody here the real real one that's going on sale will be unveiled in Detroit in january probably less a few rotary symbols personaly l hope they keep the chrome rotors in the seat head rests though .

Here's a little teaser mazda asked me if l had spotted the mazda parts on the new Aston Martin wile l was there !!

All the Best
