Painted interior

I painted some of my interior orange. I still need to find some black leather front seats, but I think this will look pretty awesome when it's all done. I'm thinking of adding some more orange, but I don't want to overdo it. Maybe the glossy piece on the door panels (where the lock/unlock buttons are)? I plan on painting the exterior black and orange as well. Any suggestions?

If you use vinyl instead, your resale value will not suffer so much, because it can be easily returned to stock.

That's what I did with mine. Covered the silver trim with black vinyl.

seats

I have black leather seats that are in great condition, I'd be willing to trade for red/black two toned seats in equally good condition, idk if thats what you've got now or not

A bbk done in orange would look really nice on a black and orange body.

I don't plan on leaving the car stock. I just got the thing a few months ago. Gotta give me a little bit of time :D. I'd really like to find the ATH body kit and turbo my 8, but that should be it's own thread.

I didn't even think about using vinyl covers. Honestly though, the silver part was so fubar that I'd have had to paint it anyways. Is that what you guys would suggest doing for the leather door panels then? I'd like to orangify those, too.

Why are the back seats leather, but fronts are cloth

Side note, not feeling the orange, or the paint for that matter its cheep. Vinyl it.

If its worth doing, its worth doing right.

Also the door panels appear to be "leather".

I bought the leather swap from a guy that already sold his front seats :/ It was local though and only cost me $140. I'm patient enough to wait and find a deal on the front seats.

Why do you think the paint is cheap? Those pieces are originally painted. I sanded them down, cleaned them, and painted them properly. I'm not saying that vinyl is a bad idea or anything. It really hadn't crossed my mind until someone mentioned it on this post.

Anyone have a good place to buy the vinyl wrap from?

Paint just looks cheep, like a 17 year old and his honda type of thing, and they are not painted from the factory, they are film covered when there are injection molded. It will sand off like paint but is much smoother finish and more resilient.

And you can order vinyl anywhere online pretty cheap, and its pretty forgiving if you make a mistake to start over.

Didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna look more into the vinyl option and refinishing.

Thanks for the info

Hell no! If you're going to cover sections of the door panel... you need to take the door panel off first to get an idea of what you're taking on. The "leather" panels in the door are fused with the rest of it, so there is no clean way to do it like in an old FC:

If you want to get this look in an 8, you had better be good and clean with a razor and glue.

I need to vinyl some silver interior pieces to blue. I've only thought of water transfer until now.
