heh, awesome! wish I could pull mine up to the SRV statue on town lake (colorado river) here but I don't think that would go over too well

 

Stephen F. Austin, actually. It's located right off 288 in Angleton, very close to the MSR Houston racetrack. (I had just finished a race day before I went down to the statue for the shoot.)

The Sam Houston statue is a ways up north on the freeway just before Huntsville. The closest I've parked to Big Sam is on the shoulder of I-45:

 

man when I lived in houston I drove past Sam Houston so many times.

Haven't seen SFA though.

 

Less than a gallon away from SFA is a place that hails as the First Capital of Texas. Here's a photo shot today at the historic site:
